Size play, perhaps? :V You have all these lovely low-angle PoVs going.
Perhaps pull the camera back a bit, so to speak, and show the tiny creatures (Possibly other birds!) standing so close to such dangerously giant talons!

But it also depends on the character. This owl girl wouldn't like being around tiny critters because she doesn't want to step on anybody, for their own safety really.

There's the beauty of it. Dun' have to be the owl. :V
Could be the yellow bird, seen before so eagerly showing off feet'n tail to the viewer.
Perhaps unaware of the smaller creature beneath either, Or another large bird entirely who'd be in to such a thing. Choices abound!
