Earworms are a pain in the tuchis. The Times of London suggests humming God Save the Queen; America ("My Country, 'Tis of Thee") is the same tune.

I usually put an MP3 playlist on and let it rip (so top speak); frequently my mind will clamp onto something different for a few hours. I have been listening to a bunch of Spyro Gyra albums in the car; one piece will get stuck and I have to catch a good 'sit at my desk and hack' session with the headphones to get rid of it.

Come to think of it, got any Canadian Brass or Trans-Siberian Orchestra? I don't know if Gorecki is a good choice for folks with clinical depression.

I should be listening to almost ANYTHING else, but I still keep going back to Gorecki- Worse, I don't have to play it, have it all but memorized, even the soloist's part (don't know the translation thou-) And, yes, he is like, the worst for us depressives.
