First character in a series of portraits related to a roleplay story I came up with years ago and recently decided to dust off a bit.
And, speaking of it... EXPOSITION TIME !
In the early 21th century, an astounding discovery was made : deep under the Arctic, a research team found an ancient alien structure, believed to have been built around the end of the Cretaceous period, 65 million years ago. How such a complex building could have been created, how it managed to survive the numerous continental shifts and who built it, nobody knows. But it was only the tip of the iceberg...
The scientist sent to investigate the inner sanctum found, deep inside the structure, a large room... Filled with thousands of dinosaurs eggs, that had been kept alive in stasis for over 65 million years. A lot of them died due to power failures, but most of the embryos were still alive in their shells.
Over the next couple decades, the world nations debated on what to do with those eggs. In the end, it was decided that the eggs were going to be placed in volunteer foster homes, carefully selected among the scientific community, where they would hatch and be raised to live in the modern world.
And thus was created the "Pangaea Initiative" : for the first time in 65 million years, dinosaurs eggs hatched on Earth.
Eden Walker, the too-sexy-to-be-extinct Parasaurolophus here, was among the first generation of "Pangaeans" to hatch. He's not my only character when it comes to this RP, but he's the first I decided to draw. Parasaurolophuses need more love...
Of course, since the story takes place in a Furry world, dinosaurs were anthro, too.
I mainly wanted to make sure the past two months of inactivity didn't affect negatively my artistic abilities. According to
arkam, they didn't... And it seems I got even better !
Trivia : I mainly listened to this ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_M1sag_w6dY ) while drawing... And boy, does THIS dinosaur have guns !
