I have been a music lover from a very early age. There was always music playing on the stereo in the house where I grew up.

My current music collection includes approximately 900 albums representing some 230 artists. Of those, about 820 are on compact disc and fill the rack shown in this photo. The rest are vinyl albums and a there are even a few cassette tapes.

That represents a staggering number of listening hours. It doesn’t seem so long ago that I was a teenager with a dozen or so vinyl albums. I knew the words to just about every one of those songs (and still remember them well). Alas, that is no longer possible. In fact, I sometimes find entire recordings on the shelf that I completely forgot I owned.

This will move to scraps in a few days
