Since he lives deep in the woods among nature, Flint has had to adapt to survive. No, he does not use his bow for hunting, but instead uses it to threaten and scare off anything he deems dangerous. He has never struck a living animal with his arrows, but the predators don't know that, and if the threat of his bow does not scare them away, he'd unleash an arrow by their ear to get the point across. If however, even that does not work, Flint will use the only other thing he has going for him, his nimbleness, as he flees and hides amongst the thickets. While he can put up an act and look tough, he quickly loses his nerve when things don't go as planned, and especially if he is caught without his bow.
