Ah, yes, the first big monster. Every Monster Hunter game has it, that first real test once newbies are acclimated to the more low-key gathering requests or simple slaying of small beasts that go down in just a hit or two. If you think that's all it takes to be a great hunter, you're in for an awakening.

Looks like one hunter and their felyne companions were a bit overconfident against the most recent "Rookie Killer," the Great Maccao. This monster is known for its powerful tail, which it balances back on and uses to propel itself forward with a flurry of flying kicks. Or in this case, balancing on that tail easily frees up all four of his limbs to freely rub over its stuffed, cradled gut. Definitely a successful hunt!

I, uh...don't think the guild's felyne cart is going to be able to get the hunter out of this one...
