To all Pokémon Trainers, their journeys are filled with venturing into dangerous terrains with widely ranged landscapes and weather and/or temperature, across seas and oceans, spooky caves, and especially various types of forests. While all trainers must go through these challenges on their quests, there are some who become quite the specialists in one or two of those areas. Much is the case with Lobos, an up and coming trainer who had decided to wait out the qualifying rounds of the Pokémon League Tournament in the type of area he felt most comfortable with. A deep forest that seemed to go on forever (to the untrained eye of course). By his side was his ever faithful partner Ham, a Raichu who by many means was very strong, but had a pretty substantial problem…
“Haha, you can’t really be getting scared again Ham! Being out in the woods like this is great!” The folf trainer laughed while taking in a deep breath. “Ah, you can totally smell the sap from the trees and the sweetness of the berries around us!~”
“S-sir...that’s nice and all b-but...did we really have to come here at night? It’s so dark and I just know there’s dangerous stuff around here...” The Raichu’s body shivered as he continued to walk alongside his trainer. He nervously looked around from time to time, but suddenly stopped when he felt the familiar pat of Lobos’ hand on his head. Looking up, he could see the folf smiling down at him.
“Hey now, you and I have been on our journey together for the longest time! You know the woods are my specialty, right?” Seeing the Raichu nod but getting ready to say something, Lobos continued on. “And you know I wouldn’t needlessly lead us into dangerous situations.”
“I...yes sir. I know you wouldn’t do that. I j-just… I’m sorry. Y-you know how dark places get to me.” The Raichu’s paws shifted some against the grassy ground nervously.
“Yes...that is the one thing you and I have different feelings on. Though I do appreciate you coming along with me.” The folf gently patted his belt with his Pokeballs on it. Another smile coming on. “I just wanted to bring these guys out on a camping trip since the Professor said they were doing so well back at the lab, and you were the first one to volunteer to keep all of us safe! Even considering how much you hate camping, you still did it. I couldn’t ask for a better partner~”
Hearing those kind words, Ham let out a soft ‘chu’ while they continued to walk. It didn’t take the two long to come across a small open area, big enough for the little camp Lobos was planning on making. It was obvious that it was a popular spot for passing trainers since there were two halves of a large log laying flat on the ground to form makeshift benches with a fire pit surrounded by stones between them. Taking a deep breath and moving around the area, Ham started sniffing around and flicks his ears some to listen out for anything around them. “I...don’t smell anything else nearby besides the usual bird and bug Pokémon around here. But even they are a little ways away from here.”
“Heh, that’s great. Very good Ham. Go ahead and take a break on one of those logs while I set up this tent.” The folf had taken off his large backpack and pulled out all the things necessary for the tent. Not wanting his trainer to do it alone, the Raichu moved off to his side and started eagerly putting the pieces together. The two had done this many times already, so the act was pretty much second nature at this point. In only a few minutes, the tent was up and stable. With that done, the folf stood up and smile as he pressed the center to all 5 of his remaining Pokeballs. “Alright guys, come on out!”
After doing that, all five balls opened up, and a flash of red light flew out and onto the ground from each of them. When the light subsided, in it’s place were 5 small Pokémon. Mareep, Charmander, Squirtle, Pidgey, and Cyndaquil. The five of them blinked their eyes open and looked around in amazement at the forest around them!
“Wooooah! Look at how big this place is!”
“Haha, I’ve never been outside the lab, this is so cool!”
The young five ran around the area, Charmander and Cyndaquil Taking a few steps out of sight before Ham quickly dashed over and picked up the two. “H-hey now. Don’t run off you guys. This could be a dangerous area.”
“Aaawww, but we wanna explore!”
“Pretty please Ham!”
The Raichu sighs softly as he walks back to his trainer with the two before letting them down. The two smaller Pokémon huffed some before going off to into the tent to play more. Mareep let out a wide yawn and shook her body some, seemingly having been woken up from being released from her ball. Even while shaking her tiredness away, she wasn’t any less amazed at being out in the open. Squirtle came up next to her and snuggled against her. The two appearing to be close.
Lobos smiled at all of them. His tail wagging at how playful and happy everyone appeared to be. His ear flicked when he felt something on his shoulder. Looking over, he smiled seeing Pidgey shyly looking at him. “Heh, still not that social huh? It’s alright Pidgey, I made sure to bring along you younger guys because I see a lot of potential in each of you.” Reaching up, he gently pets the Pidgey’s head who gulps some and just nods at him. Looking back around the area, he sees that the others have their eyes fixed on him after that statement. “*Ahem* Heh, yeah. Not only has the Professor told me some good things about you 5, but also your friends at the lab have told me about how well each of you are. Pidgey...heh, for how much you try to distance yourself from the others, you’re one of the keenest Pokémon at the lab! Charmander and Cyndaquil. You both have been quite the naughty pair haven’t you.” The two gulped some and looked at each other before nervously looking back at their trainer. They were surprised however to see him just smiling at them. “Though that adventurous spirit you both have is almost completely mirroring me! Heh, I couldn’t be more proud!”
“S-sir...that’s not really a good thing you know!” Ham sighs some but his comment was somewhat drowned out by the excited shouts from the two young Fire types. Squirtle and Mareep giggle softly before looking at their trainer when he called for attention again.
“Heh, and finally there is Mareep and Squirtle. You two have been an example to the others at the lab. Even as opposing types, you two have not only become the best of friends, but have been showing some great team work on your own. I know you two a certainly gonna be a double battle nightmare for our future opponents!” Both Pokémon in question blushed some from the comments, but after looking at each other again, they couldn’t help smiling again. “You all are gonna be a part of my core team in the future. But first Ham, myself, and the others are going to compete in the Pokémon League Tournament. If we win, it’ll show just how far our training has come! But I wanted to show you guys...and reaffirm myself that even after the tournament, no matter what happens, I’m still gonna continue my training. I wanted the others to get some rest for the tournament, but I wanted you 5 to get a feel of the outside because after the tournament is done, it’s your turn to get to training! Now how does that sound?!”
All 5 of the young Pokémon jumped around and/or just cheered happily. Even the stoic Pidgey got excited and started flying around in a circle above them. Ham smiled at all of them and giggled from the excitement they were all showing. He started walking towards the group before stopping suddenly and looking around. His large ears alert to a sound he had heard. “I...could have sworn...I heard a pair of large wings… But I don’t smell anything unusual...” His thoughts were broken again by the smaller Pokémon cheering happily again. It was loud enough that he attempted to cover his ears. “Ugh...heh. My imagination must be getting to me. I guess I can try enjoying this peace for a while~”
* * * * * * * *
After hours of talking and playing around, the sun had gone down and the forest had for the most part gone quiet. Lobos, after talking strategy for a long while with Ham, had fallen asleep in the tent. The younger Pokémon napping around him as well. Seeing this, Ham slowly got up and stretched before moving outside of the tent. The full moon was over head, so there was plenty of light shining through the trees. For as scared as he was coming into the forest, the Raichu felt surprisingly calm. Taking a deep breath, he started walking off in the direction of a lake they had found earlier. The weight of the Pokémon League Tournament’s very near approach hitting him. “W-we really have come a long way. But can we really take on the champion...o-or even make it there to begin with… Sighs”
Almost as soon as the Raichu walked a little ways away from the tent, soft giggles started coming out. “It looks like sneaking out is gonna be a lot easier than we thought!” Charmander sat up along with Cyndaquil. Both grinning at each other as they quietly crawl out of the tent. The two giggled as soon as they got out and dashed off in the opposite direction Ham’s was. With the moon’s light shining down, it was easy for them to walk around without bumping into things. The look in their eyes could only be described as pure amazement. The scents that hit their noses, the feel of the grass on their feet. It’s exactly what those two dreamed about when they thought about venturing out into the world. “This is so cool Cyndaquil!”
“I know! Hehe, the others are gonna be so sore that they missed out on this.”
“….Missed out on what exactly?” The two fire types jumped at hearing that familiar voice. Looking back, they could see that Squirtle, Mareep, and Pidgey had followed them out into the woods. The small bird Pokémon sighed from on Mareep’s back. “You know both of you are gonna get into trouble if you go off on your own.
Charmander huffed and crossed his arms. “Nu-uh. Didn’t you hear what Lobos said!”
“We’re just like him! He loves that we have a mind for adventure!” Cyndaquil’s flames started to come out the more excited he got. “And we aren’t going far. We just wanted check out the area.”
Seeing the looks of the three, Mareep and Squirtle nervously cleared their throats to get the attention on them. The smaller of the two rubs his head gentle before smiling. “Haha, come on guys, let’s not spend our first vacation arguing.”
“Yeah. Heh, I don’t really see a problem with us looking around a little. But let’s just be quick of it so Ham doesn’t...” Though the point of her statement had been made for the most part, her voice trailed off and her eyes went wide along with Squirtle’s and Pidgey’s as they gazed upon a massive figure behind the eager fire types.
Not phased at all by the look in their eyes, Charmander and Cyndaquil both cheered happily from Mareep’s comment. “Haha! Seeee! There’s nothing wrong with us going a little far from camp! Hehe, come Cyndaquil. You guys follow us, if you wanna fly back Pidgey, then go on ahead. We’re gonna go exp...mhmm?!”
Charmander stops in his tracks when he walks right into a wall of soft fur. A blush comes on him as he and Cyndaquil both jump back so they are right in front of their teammates. Before them stood a very large white furred fluffy dragon. A red collar with golden bells around his neck and a pair of bright yellow eyes staring down at the 5 started Pokémon. “Mmmm, well what do we have here? You wittle ones shouldn’t be out all by yourselves. Are you lost?”
Trying to be quick and cautious with his words, Pidgey lifted his wing to get the large dragon’s attention. “Uh… n-no sir. We aren’t lost, we’re just exploring some. We were just about to head back...”
“WOAAAAH! YOU’RE SO BIG!” Both of the eager fire types interrupted Pidgey’s strategy and shouted out in excitement.
“Heh, I sure am wittle ones. My name is Vanilla by the way. And exploring you say? That’s pretty cool. I’m quite the adventurer myself.” Leaning down on all fours, the large white dragon started into the eyes of the young Pokémon. Their own eyes giving off a mix of fear and excitement between them. A kind smile appears on his face as he gives his lips a little lick. “How would you brave little explorers like to explore search inside a kitten-dragon cave?”
“Heh, well my name is Charmander, and this here is my best buddy Cyndaquil! And those guys are Mareep, Squirtle, and Pidgey. D-do you really have a cave for us to explore?!”
The bird Pokémon among them suddenly chirped up in anger and frustration. His wings start flapping some but he keeps a hold of Mareep’s wool so he wouldn’t fly away. “You dolt! He’s trying to eat us! We have to get out of here!!”
“Hehe, oh dear. You’ve figured it out. Such a smart friend your little group has. But there is more to it than just wanting to fill my belly.” Looking back, Vanilla narrows his eyes some as he looks off into the distance. “These woods seem to normally be safe, but there are some rather sinister looking Pokémon heading this way. I don’t particularly like fighting, so I thought it would be good to fly ahead and warn the Pokémon here.”
“And you expect us to just believe that story? Y-you’re just trying to make it easier for us to just let you eat us! Guys come on! Let’s get out of here!”
“I...don’t expect you all to believe me, but I am telling you the truth. I apologize for my deception, it just felt like a nicer way to get you guys inside me. Oh, and I promise my stomach is totally safe. It’s nice and roomy too, so all of you can stay in there. I swear I’ll let you out in the morning if those Pokémon aren’t around anymore.” Continuing to start at the smaller Pokémon, Vanilla gave them a kind smile while cutely wagging his tail. Mareep and Squirtle looked at each other knowingly before giving each other a nod.
“Huffs We don’t believe a work you say! We’re leaving...”
“We’ll go with you Vanilla!” The Pidgey gasped loudly when he heard all four of his companions say those words. His eyes wide as he gazes down at the two more mature members of the group.
“W-what is wrong with you guys?! I w-would kinda expect that from those two hot heads, but not you guys!”
Squirtle looked up at the bird, his calm demeanor considering the situation putting the Pidgey off even more. “If he wanted to just eat us for no other reason other than his hunger, Mareep and I think he would have just done it. There isn’t any real reason for him to lie to us about something like that when he could just gulp us down quicker.”
“Yeah but...”
Mareep closed her eyes and her fluffy wool started shaking some. Pidgey quickly jumped on top of her head as soon as he felt it and gulped some. “His claims aren’t completely baseless either. Ham taught me how to use my electricity to sense if danger was nearby. I haven’t gotten to practice much, but I can feel some big things coming from that direction behind mister Vanilla.” Her eyes open again, and after taking a deep breath, she and Squirtle both moved forward towards the large dragon.
Vanilla couldn’t help licking his lips again as he stared at the confident eyes of the young Pokémon. “I would very much like to talk to all of you more, but for now, why don’t I get all of you out of here. If it’s easier, I’ll just stay like this for you.” Closing his eyes, Vanilla suddenly opens his muzzle wide and lowers his head more so all the Pokémon could easily bring themselves inside.
Not phased at all by the massive maw in front of them, Cyndaquil and Charmander remained as excited as ever. “Heh, this is gonna be our first real adventure Charmander!”
“I knoooow! Uh...I think you might have to go first Cyndaquil. You’re smaller than me, but I’ll be right behind you!” Looking at each other, both fire types nodded before leaning forward and rubbing their hands on that large tongue. “Hehe, it’s so squishy~”
Pidgey started fluttering again just at the sight of them. ‘What use was a Pokémon as keen as their master said he was if no one listened to him’ the main thought on his mind. “You idiots!! Will you please listen to me and staaah!!!” The small bird stiffened up as a sudden small electric shock suddenly went throw his body. It didn’t hurt him, but he found that he couldn’t move at all. “M-Mareep...w-what are you doing?!”
“You are getting too loud Pidgey. Look, we...at least Squirtle and I see you don’t like this. But we are going to be a team, which means we are able to rely on others rather than just ourselves. When you were afraid, you were always able to just fly away and not have to worry about the problem. Just...try to learn to trust in the rest of us, alright?” She gently shakes off the small bird into Squirtle’s waiting arms. The turtle then reaching inside her fluffy wool and soon pulls out a fresh Cheri berry.
“I’ll give you this once we are inside...”
Looking back at Vanilla, the three just see Charmander’s feet and tail wiggle into the wide open muzzle before it closes. The large dragon takes a big swallow and murrs as he feels the two excited lumps slide down his throat and into his waiting belly. They could easily see when their companions landed...and it appeared they weren’t any less energetic inside as they were out. That soft belly rapidly moving around as the two “explored” their surroundings. “Heheh, y-your friends are much more fiery than their types let on. But still incredibly tasty. Mmmm, so who’s next?” Leaning down again, he gives that familiar kind smile and opens wide. Taking a deep breath, Squirtle peers inside with Pidgey. The latter still not able to move, but was not trembling in the turtle’s arms. His voice just a whisper now.
“C-come on please...I’m scared alright. I’m s-sorry I yelled at you guys and called them dumb. I...I j-just...”
“It’s alright. Just trust in us my friend.” Squirtle turned Pidgey around so he wasn’t able to see themselves moving into the large muzzle. All he could feel was the wet warmth all around him before everything got dark with that large maw closing around them. Squirtle holds onto him tighter as Vanilla tilts his head back and swallows them down. The slide down was longer than Squirtle thought it would be, but soon he and Pidgey dropped out into the belly as well. Charmander and Cyndaquil not even acknowledging them since they were still happily feeling on the soft walls and walking around. Looking down at Pidgey, who still hadn’t stopped trembling, Squirtle brings up the Cheri berry to his beak. “Here. As promised.”
“….t-thank you...” Slowly opening his beak, Pidgey took the berry and started to eat it. The first bite into it was already making his movements come back to him.
Back on the outside, Vanilla sighed happily and licked his lips before looking down at the final Pokémon. Mareep returned the gaze with her own. She was sure of their decision, and wouldn’t back out on it, but the feeling of being the last one did put her nerves on edge. “I’m...not sure I will be able to slide in as easily as the others mister Vanilla.”
“Aaawww, you don’t have to call me mister. Just Vanilla is fine. And you’re right, you won’t be able to on your own. But I can still get you down! Hehe, believe it or not, I’ve swallowed much larger things than you.” Reaching out with his soft paws, he easily hoists up the fluffy ewe and gives her a little lick. Her wool stands on end from that. “Hehe, sorry. I couldn’t resist.”
“It’s alright...uh...o-once you are finished with me. Would you please go get our trainer and his partner Ham? He’s a Raichu, but he went off somewhere before we ventured out of the tent. Our trainer was still sleeping when we left.”
Nodding, Vanilla gave her a gentle nuzzle. “I planned to get all of you anyway. I wouldn’t want to separate such a close group. Now then...are you ready?” Mareep nodded to him and closed her eyes. Vanilla licked his lips once more before letting his maw open wider than before. His paws guide Mareep inside, half her body sticking out. Smiling, Vanilla just tilted his head back and took a big swallow, and then another one right after that so he is able to close his muzzle around her now descending body. He has to pull his collar out some this time so she is able to slide down without getting stuck in his throat. Once she is past that point, he lets his collar go and moves both his paws down to his belly. A low and pleasured purr escapes his lips as he feels the wiggling around in there. That purr gets even louder when he feels Mareep drop inside with the rest of her friends. “Mmmm, so goooood! I’m already getting so full, and I still have two nice snacks to have. Heh, I haven’t had a trainer in my belly in a long time.” The long tail of the kitty-dragon wagged softly as he got up and made the short walk to the campsite. Peeking out through the trees, a grin appeared on his face as he heard snoring coming from inside the wide open tent.
* * * * * * * *
Ham yawned softly as he got up and stretched. He had spent more time gazing up at the sky by the river than he wanted to. He had a smile on his face since he was able to let out the anxious feelings he had. “This really is our time. Lobos really believes in us...in me! I certainly can’t let him down. Hehe, I’ll make him and everyone who watches us so proud. Yawn” Finally getting back to the campsite, Ham rubs his eyes some to get some of the tears from the yawn away. His ears flicked when he heard some ruffling around, but just lets out a sigh. “You guys are supposed to be sleeping you know. Please don’t make naptime a chore as...”
The Raichu’s voice broke when he looked up from his hands. Horror filled his eyes as he saw two familiar feetpaws hanging outside the muzzle of a large white creature with a massive belly. The yellow eyes of the creature catching sight of the Raichu and smiles around those paws before taking a big swallow, sending them inside it’s muzzle and down it’s throat with the body they are attached to. “Aaaahhh, that was even better than I thought it would be! Mmm oh, you must be Ham!”
“L...Lobos...t-the little ones...” Ham’s eyes turned from horror to despair as he figured out what had happened. This monster just came by and...ate them! The fact he wasn’t there to look out for them all weighing on his heart just as much. Closing his eyes, the Raichu felt tears start to run down his face before he let out a loud growl. Sparks started flying from his cheeks as he started getting enraged.
“Huh...uh-oh. H-hey now Ham, settle down alright. Please let me expl...”
“SHUT UP AND GIVE ME BACK MY FRIENDS!!!!” Opening his eyes and showing his rage filled yet teary eyes as he dashed forward. He growled loudly and sent out his strongest Thunderbolt, which Vanilla just barely dodged. Not wanting to hurt the Raichu, or get himself hurt for that matter, the kitty-dragon sent his tail out and quickly wrapped it around the Raichu. Ham continued to growl and the sparks flew from his cheeks even more. “Let me go and GIVE THEM BAAACK!!!”
“PLEASE STOP! YOU’RE GOING TO HURT THEM!” Vanilla’s words seemed to get through to the distraught Raichu. His sparks slowly started to go down but he continued to growl and stare up at “the monster” with his rage filled eyes.
“So was that your plan...eat all the little Pokémon and then our Trainer...and then use them as a shield? You coward...you monster!”
“Ham...Ham is that you?”
The Raichu’s ears flicked when he heard that voice. “M-Mareep? Mareep, where are you?!” Even while bound in the long tail, Ham still looking around, hopeful the young Pokémon was safe.
“I’m in here with everyone else Ham. It’s okay, we’re all fine!” The Raichu looked at that massive belly and blushed some when he realized she was speaking to him from inside it. His muzzle hung open in shock. “Please listen Ham, Vanilla is just trying to save us. There are some big Pokémon heading this way, and Vanilla said they look pretty menacing. I did the electromagnetic sensing like you taught me. I could only pick up a faint signal, but I’m sure you can do it better!”
“HAM!!! It’s me, Charmander! It’s so amazing in here! It’s all soft and squishy!”
Continuing to look on in disbelief, Ham couldn’t even find the words to describe what he was feeling. Slowly looking up, he could see Vanilla looking down at him with a calm smile. “I’m really sorry for scaring you and making you think I hurt your friends. But carrying you all inside me is the quickest and safest way I can get you all out of here.”
“I...d-don’t understand...I d-didn’t sense anything...” Shaking his head some, Ham’s gaze went back to that large belly. He could see it moving around now with all it’s occupants inside it. He was about to try and send out his own electrical wave...but suddenly started feeling droplets of something hitting his head. Looking up again, he blushed when he saw that Vanilla’s smile turned into a hungry grin. His paws came together and rubbed each other as some drool slipped from his muzzle.
“Uh...hehe. I know this is sudden, but I really should tuck you away now. That attack of yours will surely attract those Pokémon here.” The Raichu got a fearful look in his eyes from that statement. He attempted to move out of the binds, but that tail held him tight. He shivered some as he watched that maw open wide and squeaked when it came down over his head! It took strong willpower for Ham not to immediately use his Thunderbolt inside there. He knew that he would only hurt all hist friends...and it also seemed that the dragon was trying to protect them in his own way.
Ham could feel the tail uncurl from his upper body before a swallow pulled him more inside the warm and wet maw. He wiggled some but soon stiffened up when he saw that opening to Vanilla’s throat. Fear made him try to push himself back, but he squeaked again as another swallow pulled him straight into the hole.
Vanilla made sure to pull on his collar again as more of the Raichu came inside. Completely uncurling his tail from the electric mouse, he is able to lift up his head and let gravity aid in the Raichu’s descent. He could hear the weak ‘chus’ coming from his last prey in his throat and decided to try and hurry the process along. Another big swallow was all he needed to be able to close his maw around those large paws. He gave both of them a few playful licks before they too slipped down into his throat. With just the Raichu’s long tail outside his maw, he is able to let go of his collar and watch as his belly gets a bit bigger when Ham slips inside it. He could hear a few cheers and feel much more movement happening inside him. A smile came on his face knowing that once again, he is able to protect some weaker creatures, and get a nice meal for a while as well. “Hehe, have fun in there wittle ones. I’ll let you all out in a little while.”
The kitty-dragon looked back and could actually see trees moving in the not so far distance. Looking around, he quickly grabbed Lobos’ bag from the tent and only grabbed what he thought was really important, the Pokeballs and the trainer’s hat. “I’m sorry, you’ll have to get a new tent guys.” Holding onto the bag, Vanilla takes a deep breath before spreading out his large wings and pushes himself off into the sky! He was a bit surprised himself he could manage to fly with all the weight inside him, but was nonetheless thankful he is able to. Turning around in the sky, he flew off towards an area much more familiar to him. His free paw gently rubbing over his slowly relaxing belly, the sounds of multiple snores making him smile again. “Heh, sleep well little tasties. You’re all safe now~”

I guess I can try enjoying this peace for a while~”
* * * * * * * *
* * * * * * * *
