It does wonders if used correctly, although it probably would have been a better to resort with Shi-Painter or the alike.

Giving the grass a bit of particular line value and thickness here is what I've really done with them, and the result had came out better than I expected.

Using the zoom tool to draw those lines as smooth really helps.
