the best encounter. happened at the waterhole less than a minute's drive from camp. The hyena yawned at us and performed a vehicle inspection before following us back to camp. We got to listen to it whooping and the way it echoed was downright awesome.

Pretty sure this is the individual that watched us eating braai around the fire one night, and was in camp every night after we all went to sleep.

One morning there were tracks around the fire and all the ash had been flattened in the fire pit - apparently they like to sleep on the warm coals.
