As for your style, the proportions are pretty in sync.
The only thing I would say is to have it stand out more with more light values and shading.
Also, for some reason....the eye (open one) bothers me a bit....is it too big? Does it seem to trail off the side of the face? I can't put my finger on it....
All that aside, this is a pretty good job. =3
