Last 2 mags (12 shots) out of my G43 today on an 8" target at 7 yards. Winchester white box ammo, need to run some others and see if I can do better!

Not bad shooting -- all 12 in the 7 ring, with ¢heap-@$$ ammo, too.
Generic cartridges... I used to use the white box stuff when I was poor (and shot more). Back in the '80s, my buddy Kevin had an HtG Thompson full-auto, Treasury stamp and all. The local gun shop didn't any .45 reloads, so I bought two boxes of Remington yellow box range rounds. I recall that they ran about $9 per box -- in a day I made about $14 an hour. I loaded the 50-round snail drum (it has lots of ways to hurt you!) and emptied it in way too little time. Took a week to get the grin off my mug, though.

Not bad for me at all! And with a brand new gun to boot!
Have shot better pistol before tho, don't know the ammo, suspect it was hand loads, but F&N FNX.45 tactical http://www.fnamerica.com/index.php?cID=509 ,.... Guy in the next lane had that and the FN5,7..... I mostly wanted a pull on the 5,7, which he gave me. Neat gun! If it weren't for the boom, you almost wouldn't know it went off! Silly low recoil, but a wicked evil .22 bullet exiting the barrel.... I digress, I pulled on the 5,7, then he handed me the .45!!!! And I wore a sub 2" 10 shot hole over the bullseye at 7 yards!!!!!! granted, he had a muzzle break and maybe a few other things done to it... But damn! Never shot pistol so good in my life! Or since, for that matter.
His comment was 'Ohh,... So you've done this before?' Told him I'd never touched an FN pistol in my life!
I need to find the defense round this thing likes, and really need to get into reloading!

My brother had an FN Five-Seven for a few years. I just spoke with him, and he said he loved it and it was a tack-driver at the range, but he was afraid the State was going to ban it after Sandy Hook, so he sold it back to a dealer. He also has an FN Forty-Nine. It had a nasty trigger and just wasn't fun to shoot, so it sits in his safe. We both own FN Hi-Powers, mine is a mid-'60s Portuguese model and his is a 2003 Military model.
