Looks like Hollywood Betty and I are gonna have another movie to add to our resume, this time, "The Life and Death of John Gotti" starring John Travolta that starts filming here in Cinci this week. Here is Betty (on right) and an acquaintance waiting to get their camera test.
Two weeks ago a casting call went out for a new movie to be shot in town, but at the time I didn't pay too much attention. After all, there's about four or five movies that are scheduled to be shot here. It wasn't until I accidentally discovered that the movie was looking for classic cars - and especially Buicks, Lincolns and Cadillacs from the 1970s, '80s and '90s - that suddenly piqued my interest. Then I was all, "Uh uh, baby, I GOT too..!" and applied.
As it turned out, the casting director was the same nice lady who liked Betty the last time, too, when she wanted us for Miles Ahead! The rest, as they say, is history. :)
This past Friday evening I took Betty downtown for a camera test, which as I understand it is simply a chance for the director to see how the cars and cast look in different light levels, different camera angles, different POVs, and so on. In this pic, behind Betty and the Olds are the production-owned cars (like the Dodge Charger police car between the two?). Unfortunately, I had to leave Betty behind that night because of production scheduling and break my personal rule about nobody driving her except me and two other highly trusted persons. However, the next morning when Michi and I got down to get Betty back we saw that they had done something with all the cars...except that Olds, that was parked exactly where we found it the evening before. The production cars were on a trailer and Betty herself wasn't where I left her. Fortunately, all was well - aside from a little dust she was just as I had left her, and wherever they took her was less than a mile from the movie staging area. :)
Don't know where this will all go, but if last time was any indication, we'll be in for some CRAZY big fun...and work! I'll keep you guys updated. :)

HA! Michi and I talked about just that over the weekend!
I said that I could be on board for that, provided certain conditions were met, like being able to keep the same color and them not half-assing the job. My one car show pal and Betty's Dr. said that for $1000 I could have her looking like new with a contact he knows. For another $1000 on top of that I could have the vinyl top replaced. Oh, if only I had that kind of money for that kind of use! It's SOOOO close, yet JUUUUUST out of reach...
