Just venting abit....
My car's timing belt went and took some valves with it. it's a 16 year old car so i have been asked..Do you want it fixed?
A few people also tell me it's time for a new one. I was hoping for 3 more years.
The answer is that I need a car while I make moves to get a new car. This is going to put me in deep money problems. possibly for six years. Meaning I will be over 50 before I can save money again. I doubt I will have much time to do art like comics and particularly the "Age of Wraith" series. Even Extinct will be fewer in appearances.
I need to keep my food bill down and the booze too. I need better health so I can focus on the money issue which at the moment is the only issue.
Still need to go color and right now even B&W is harder not easier.
Let me state here that I do not do free art requests. In the past when I have done so people who requested failed to even say thanks. People who have purchased art have gotten free art because they are supporters! So I am generous to those who give me help!
Thank you to people who have helped and I have to say thanks to furry in general. Once I may have wanted to work for a major comic company but nowadays they pander like idiots to the point that porn feels cleaner.
It is very important that you younger people realize that mistakes of missed opportunities will compound later in life. Work smart and love others well.
There will be more auctions soon and I will be making offers to do things so that people can relatively cheaply get their pics of favorite franchise characters. The deal will be something like two nudes for twenty. I keep the originals and the supporter gets 2 digital pics for their gallery.
If you like my art and comics try and throw a few bucks my way when money permits!

This is one reason why I love the Volkswagen products of the 1970's. In the town where I once lived, there were no less than 4 parts places, and another four repair shops that took other cars but specialized in the Air Cooled Volkswagen. I am a do-it-yourself-er. also don't drink often. when I see $8 for a four pack of something. I am glad I don't have that particular monkey on my back. (no offense to the monkeys or simian freindlies here, I know you're out there. )
Would you repair your own car if needed? Could you? it would save you lots of money if you can do things yourself.
There are also repair manuals exclusively for people who are not mechanics. the "How to keep your volkswagen alive for the complete idiot" book is something every vw owner should have. Any car you buy today Except an air cooled beetle has a 15 year parts train behind it. once it's 15 years old, you can't get parts for it. Air Cooled Beetles break that rule. I can get knobs that previously only dealers could get. The down side is that with age, things do break down. you will have to learn to replace parts that were working yesterday. it's up to you. I have my history with beetles to remember, you might not have a good experience with them. I also take car trouble in stride. I don't just chuck the car to the curb, I fix the issue and get it going.
I love my bug. hope you have good luck with something too.

I have no idea what parts availability is like in the Caribbean. I would be more worried about Hurricanes. but there are huge places of mailorder, and the number one place to go is TheSamba. why it's named after a dance is a mystery to me, but it's there, real people say what they did to fix their bugs or buses or what have you.
Instead of buying a 'new' car, buy a newer USED CAR, save yourself the money. Last new car I bought was in 1986, and I had that car til 2002 when it finally died from cancer of the metal.
I currently drive a 16 year old car cause no way in hell could I afford anything over a couple grand (and I sold several guns to just get that.) Craigslist is your basic source for affordable used cars within your price range.
I blew my engine going to MFM a few years ago (spun a bearing, totally FUBARing the engine.) In Cape Gerrardo Missouri. Was looking at $1700 to drop in a replacement used engine, bought a 6 year newer car for $1200 in the same town and finished the trip. (The ex still drives that car)
What you need to ask yourself is the following, Is the car physically in decent shape to drop in a used engine? How much will it cost to replace the engine? Then go from there. Overall might be cheaper to replace the car than dropping in a used engine. If the car is a rust bucket physically, replace it.
