Here's the next character from my Pangaea Initiative RP context : Nublar, a young Dakotaraptor whose family name I still have to decide on... Any suggestion ? :3
He shared the same egg with his twin sister Sorna, who will probably get her portrait posted here real soon. Ever since they hatched, they've had the habit of sharing... Everything.
Don't let his big muscles, sharp sickle-like claws and many pointy teeth fool you : he's a very friendly guy. Even though he has a funny way to show it...
I really wanted to try drawing a character in motion; I tend to simply draw static poses, I need to improve and try new things !

I know, I never rush my artworks. I spent several hours over the span of two days to draw Nublar, up here. First, I draw a sketch in blue pencil, to lay out the anatomy and general shape. Then I use a gray pencil to flesh it out, then a graphite pencil to highlight what I want to keep and, finally, a black pen to keep the definitive lines before erasing the rest.
The sketching is generally what takes me the most time to do, but the most stressful part is the inking : I have to be as focused as possible to avoid inking something that should have been left out; I ruined a few otherwise fine artworks because of an inking mistake.
