This is a sketch Merlin drew at Anthrocon of Daryil in a sexy pose. I've been slowly inking and colouring it and now I think it's ready.
I can only assume that Dar is approaching a Demon or a particularly brave incubus - someone with three pairs of wings and a clan mark on their chest is dangerously powerful. Most people are more likely to run for their lives than fall for his seductive charms, which is why he usually hides those attributes.
Sketch by
merlin-the-bruce, background taken from Page 227 of Project Future and quickly redrawn by me.
Figured it was about time Daryil went back to leather pants - the latex ones are fun and all, but you can have too much of a good thing.

It varies a lot. 'Cubi in the DMFA universe are attracted to emotions. Someone who is into lust, passion etc is probably going to be relatively safe. After all, if they kill you there's no more emotions for them to eat, right?
If the 'cubi has an affinity for pain and terror, you might be in for a rough time, however. And if you've got a real maniac on your hands they might eat your soul after they've had their way with you.
Daryil's affinities are fear and lust, but he's trying to move away from the whole fear thing.
In Daryil's clan, eating souls is utterly forbidden and is one of the few crimes that carries the death penalty under his laws.
However...

...that doesn't stop some of the less moral clan members...

Ah, so if... the lust was mutual between 'cubi and "victim" and the 'cubi worked on lust, the victim would largely be okay simply because the 'cubi wouldn't wanna kill them and loose the energy source that was it's victim. But then they might still try to eat your soul anyway... risky business ain't it?
Pretty much. Realistically, soul-eating is very rare, and it's not a power specific to incubi or succubi, anyone who knows the spell and has enough magic can pull it off.
But there are advantages to soul-eating if you are sufficiently desperate or amoral enough to go that route (hence Project Future, which was a project to try and create a substitute for soul energy).
The 'cubi-will-steal-your-soul meme is also very useful propaganda if you happen to be a rival race looking to start a war against them...
