Man...I could totally see myself playing the melody with my piano, or with some guitar backing in a different style. When music can transcend instruments, you know you've done a good job. ^^

Would you believe I'm a beginner? ^^

I could believe it. :P You might just have a really good intuition for melody, or for building up and breaking down a beat. I'm not a maker of techno music (though I'd love to try sometime, it is one of my favorite genres), but I prefer makin' my own notes for the time being. I'm still a beginner at what I do (I think...maybe slightly better ><), but I've got a lot of raw instinct that I need to hone. Seems like that might be your case too. :3

Yeah, I'm much the same way. I have a really good ability for coming up with the beat, and then all I do is build from there. Most of the time I'll have a little drum line pop into my head, I'll build it out, and then listen to it over and over till I get a little tune going through my head. That's what happened with this song.

That's awesome. Kinda similar to what I do, except I take pre-existing pieces and reshape them to my liking for a piano composition. Some of it is challenging as heck, but it's rewarding. I also play by ear, so I have to be able to hear the chords and how I think I'd play it in my head before I get a breakthrough. 'Tis fun though. Hope you keep messing around with different samples and stuff too. Definitely keeping an eye out. :3 I noticed though you just got two things since ya joined. Are you going to be putting more up soon?

Yes. I have more to be adding. And as for playing by ear, I do the same. Pisses my dad off when he's trying to learn a new song for the Guitar and I just listen to the song and figure it out. XD

Haha, that's great. It's such a nice feeling being able to pick up on stuff by ear, though I partially blame listening to lyricless (or international) music for ages to help me hone the ability.
