This was a piece I had commissioned back in January 2016. I had originally thought of ordering a sexy picture of Inq wearing Adelle in a fishnet body-suit configuration.
Fast forward nearly 8 months; it seems
Fustang had other ideas for the wyvern and the slave suit. This is the result and I’m more than happy with it.
“I think they’re dead,” said a bemused, feminine alto over the gentle patter of the rain.
The only answer was a guttural snarl and heavy breathing.
A soft sigh followed as a pair of glowing, green eyes radiating circuit lines rolled in exasperation. “I thought you would say something like that. Come now, my host, it’s time for you to calm down.”
It was a necessary evil, much as she was, Adelle considered. Their line of work, taken out of boredom as much as it was a match for their skills, often lent itself to extremes. This, admittedly was toward the farther end.
Frenzy. The taint of a Shaggeru Magala.
A plague that had swept through feral wyverns and dragons alike, it drove those infected mad with pain and destroyed their capacity for coherent thought. It spread from creature to creature through the barest contact, devastating the wild population. There were some that overcame the infection, but instead of gaining an immunity to the disease, they became absorbed into it. The Frenzy reshaped their minds, made them sharper, more aggressive. The pain of the transformation left behind more powerful muscles, sharper claws, and an aura that warded off all but the heaviest of blows. These creatures became known as Apex Predators.
Ferals weren’t the only ones impacted by the Frenzy. Demi-wyverns, wyvernians, and humans all could contract the disease. While humans were the least impacted, shaking off or even overcoming and benefitting from the infection, the demi-wyverns would go as savage as their feral cousins. For wyverns, both demi and feral, those that didn’t achieve an Apex state died within days.
The few wyverns that went Apex became cold, ruthless, and cunning in the extreme. They sought to spread the plague mist their bodies now produced. The only known treatment came in the form of a viral suppressant known as a Wystone. It wasn’t a cure; nothing was. Some were more than happy it wasn’t.
That’s why we survived… again, Adelle thought as the living body suit shunted the little stone slivers through her mass. When an infiltration goes bad, let Inq go Apex and kill or infect everyone around. Though, every time she let him the Frenzy became harder to suppress.
“Don’t... Adelle...” Inq growled, his voice warped as though talking through a damaged microphone.
As the needle-sharp spikes bit through scales and skin, Adelle purred, “Bye-bye, Frenzy~” The neon violet glow faded from the demi-wyvern’s eyes and he slumped heavily to his knees, reserves drained. As Adelle flowed over him, taking control over her host once more, she shuddered inwardly. She couldn’t control him in Apex form, couldn’t wear him like her favorite clothing. If this kept up, one day she might lose him...
