Whilst playing the final boss of Super Mario 3D World, the game locks up mid boss fight to Novas horror. Little did Nova know that his life was about to be changed forever by the King of the Koopas who had plans to take over this world.....

For those of you that wish to immerse yourself in the raw audio as the protagonist, I've made 2 alternative versions. One of which only features Spirit Bowser talking to you whilst "yourself" remains mute. The other version has no voices in it at all. Sit down or lay back, close your eyes and experience the soundscape of being transformed into Bowser yourself. :)

In order to get a better understanding of what's meant to be happening, here's what's meant to be happening along with the times (There's a lot to cover here so apologies for the big wall of text):

Nova is currently playing the final Bowser boss of Super Mario 3D World. (A sound recording of gameplay of the final boss is playing here along with a foley recording of buttons being mashed on a control pad.)

Nova: “Come on…… it’s taken me all this time to get here….”
The character gasps as the game freezes and locks up with a fast looping sound
Nova: “Are you being serious…. Come on…. PLEASE! (Sound of frantically mashing the buttons again for a couple of seconds before dropping controller on floor)
Bowser at this point becomes animated whilst the rest of the game remains frozen. He comes towards the inside of the TV screen and starts talking directly to the character.
Nova: “Wait… How are you….. The game froze?
Bowser: Well now…. I have to say that was quite a fight you were putting up there! Only someone that knows me well enough inside and out would be able to counter everything I have!
Nova: Wait are you?!
Bowser: Yes I’m speaking to YOU! Who else do you think I’m speaking to?!
Nova: **sounding nervous** But... but.. Your nothing more than a video game character..
Bowser: Oh am I now?! I won’t be for much longer! Now then… Like I said, you know me well enough to counter everything I have… You’d make an excellent…. Host for me….
The sound of the TV glowing here plays along with a magic sound of Bowsers essence flying through the air fast and entering the possessing Nova plays here.

Nova : Ugh…. What happened?!
Bowser : **Laughs**
Nova : **Audibly nervous here as he wonders where the laughing voice came from**
Bowser : There’s no point in looking for me! I’m right here inside YOUR HEAD!!
Nova : You….. what…. How… your just a videogame character….
Bowser : Not for much longer!
Bowser : Ugh, this human body. This weak puny human body! This just will not do at all… It needs a couple of should we say…. Changes…to better accommodate me!
Nova: What do you mean?! Uuuggghgh! (Character interrupted as changes begin)

2:45 = Skin starts changing as scales start forming across Novas body

Bowser: Now…. These hands of yours…. Needs more should we... say claws and strength…

2:45 = Hands change
Nova: No uggghg…. My hands…..**panicked breathing intensifes here as the character watches his hands changing in horror** No….. Please! Uggghg!
Bowser: These arms of yours… Honestly now?!... There’s practically skin and bone here….

3:01 = Arms change
Nova: Oh God! So warm…. So...Tight... Must resist ugggh
Bowser: Oh come on now, you know you’re enjoying this really! On another note, these legs and feet of yours… Ugh they look soo.. Scrawny and lacking…

3:28 = Feet/legs change. Feet burst out of shoes @ 3:51
Nova: **gasps at the sight of their feet, Voice is strained**. Oh gggoood!. My feet! Uggh!

Bowser: Wait there seems to be something else missing… Oh that’s right! My tail!
3:59 = Tail grows out and tailsplosion occurs @ 4:27
Nova: No please! Ackk! Oh god it hurts. Make it stop! Please!….
Nova: Oh God! I have a tail?! I can feel it as if it’s my own?! **gasp** Oh god I’m really becoming… Is cut off mid sentence here as beginnings of shell start forming and is reduced to grunting and groaning in pain

Bowser: Wow you truly are a wimpy one aren’t you? No pain tolerance at all! When you realise and experience for yourself all the pain and suffering I’ve gone through with that cursed plumber and his brother over the years, this’ll be like child’s play to you!

Bowser : Now this gut of yours *chuckles*. Needs more weight….
5:03 = Character starts gaining weight causing clothing to rip open
Nov: Oh god, my stomach….. Growing… Need to get help…. Uggggh!

Bowser: Now where were we? One of my most prized possessions seems to be missing…. Ah yes, my shell!
5:38 = Shell grows in
Nova: No…. Please… I’m becoming Bowser!
Bowser : You sure are! But wait, there’s just one more touch I need to add. My handsome face….
6:08 = Muzzle slowly grows out. Upon finishing, Nova collapses onto the floor knocking various items over in the process

At this point, Nova now completely transformed into Bowser stands up

Nova: “ugghgh…. What happened? Wait?! What!? Aarggh!. My hands! Claws?! Oh my god!! I’ve… I’m BOWSER!. Am I dreaming?! (Character stands up hard and hits their head on the ceiling)
Nova: Gahh! Ow my head! Everything looks so tiny... (Sound of Bowser footsteps here as he looks over his body. Tail hits a table knocking contents off making glass breaking sounds)
Nova: Gah!? **Gasp** My tail!? I actually have a tail?! This is so weird… I can feel it….
This…. Feels… amazing… This shell…. It’s sooo…
Hereon in, Spirit Bowser can be heard reverberating within the characters head. This is to essentially allow exchanges to happen between them in order to push the narrative forward
Spirit Bowser: Awesome I think is the word you’re looking for!
Nova: Wait… Where are you?!
Spirit Bowser: Oh I’m only inside your head. I’ve been watching you for a while now. You were so wimpy back there!
Nova: You….You did this?!
Spirit Bowser: You bet I did! Really couldn’t stay locked up in the mushroom kingdom forever you know!
Nova: But look at me! What am I going to do?! How am I going to live like this?!

Spirit Bowser: Does that reeaallly matter? You know you’re liking this really….
Nova: Well come to think of it….
Spirit Bowser: See… You know you can get used to this really….
Nova: Yes…. **Catches sight of self in the mirror** Oh wow!
Spirit Bowser: Yup… there’s the mirror….
Nova: My face…. My horns…. I really do look badass. It feels like I’ve always looked like this...
Spirit Bowser: Admiring my face are you?
Nova: Yes! I can’t believe how natural this feels. It feels like I’ve always looked like you.
Spirit Bowser: I’m surprised you haven’t even looked down at your body yet….
Nova: Oh man…. Sure does look like I’ve piled on the pounds…. Many these feet are huge! (Sounds of feet moving up and down). Even these hands… These sharp claws... I guess I’m not gonna fit into my clothing anymore…

Spirit Bowser: Why would you want to?! With a body as awesome as mine, you’d be feared by all your enemies!
Nova: Awesome! I guess no-one will dare ever approach me again!
Spirit Bowser : Now that’s the spirit! I’m surprised you haven’t even… (Spirit Bowser is cutoff mid-sentence here by the sound of a hiccup here along with fire breathing sound) “Neeeeuggghghgh!” (Sound of house fire alarm going off which is followed by the sound of Nova panickingly stamping on the floor to put out the fire.)

Spirit Bowser: **sounding slightly confused** Breathed fire yet….
Nova: Woaaah! I just did that?!
Spirit Bowser: Yup you sure did! A very nice perk with your new body don’t you think?
Nova: Oh man! I can actually breathe fire?! (Sounds here of smaller flames being blown as Nova doesn’t want to start another house fire) This is amazing!
Spirit Bowser: Well now… I guess you really do like being me then?
Nova: This is amazing… I really do feel like I’ve always been you. Will I ever change back?
Spirit Bowser: Why would you ever want to? You have soo much power at your fingertips….
Nova: Well… What about the rest of…..
Spirit Bowser: The world?! Now what if this world of yours for the taking?
Nova: Yes…. I can take this world as my own… I will control this world….
Spirit Bowser: That’s the spirit! Put the game back on and I’m sure I can bring legions of my followers into this world!
Nova: Yes! This world will be mine! And no one is going to stop me! MUAHAHAHAHA!/

Nova: Uuuuggghg **stomach rumbling** But first, I need to conquer the nearest Buffet. This giant gut needs a giant feast.
Spirit Bowser: **Chuckles** I guess the growing pains got to you... Well I did have a thing for being huge so you better hit two buffets!

Nova leaves the room and gets his gut stuck in a door frame. Moving back and forth and getting increasingly agitated, Nova eventually brings down the door frame and makes his way out of the room.
