The night was silent and peaceful. A light rain was falling outside my bedroom window and there was thunder and lightning in the distance. Even so it was quiet. Mommy and daddy were out late tonight visiting relatives and would be back in the morning. With them gone the day turned out amazing as you could imagine! I could pick anything from the fridge, watch all the movies I wanted, and could play as much on my Xbox ONE as I wanted! Unfortunately, I’m a bit young and there are certain movies you should not watch very late at night. Especially ones’ dad said I can’t watch until I’m older. But I couldn’t help it. I always wanted to watch Alien and how scary could it be if there’s only one monster in the movie?

Oh yeah my name is Felix and I’m a 7 year old snow leopard who at the moment is hiding under the sheets in my room unable to get to sleep because I’m scared out of my mind. It might also have to do with the fact that I haven’t eaten a lot of good stuff all day and am now feeling a little sick in my stomach. Whatever the reason I couldn’t get to sleep. Whenever the house creaked I would look around scared thinking the alien is around the corner. I keep telling myself it isn’t but how could I be sure? I lifted the blanket off my head and looked around my room. The door was locked of course but I still felt like something was waiting for me. My ears flicked back and forth but I couldn’t hear anything. Just the house. Or so it wanted me to believe. My spotted tail wrapped around me and I grabbed it holding it tight and slightly shaking. It would be alright I told myself. I lay back down and stared at the celling. I was starting to get sleepy but I needed to go all the way. However, I couldn’t do that just yet. I had a very dire need to use the little kitty’s room. Not just because of all the soda and juice I drank, okay that’s part of the reason, but mostly because I had a really bad feeling in my stomach and I needed it to get out. I was tempted to just ignore the feelings and try to get some sleep and deal with it in the morning. Yeah that sounded like the best plan! I reached for my dresser to grab my princess Luna plushie. Having her with me at night always helps me get to sleep. I grabbed in the dark at the dresser but felt nothing. I then realized in horror that I left her on the counter in the kitchen downstairs.

My mind was racing; downstairs! In the dark! With that alien thing quite possibly not but maybe around!!! I was in the process of deciding that it wasn’t worth the risk and that I should just stay in my room until morning but then my stomach made a noise and I felt a pressure in me. I had to go poopy and I had to go soon. I was soon thinking of a plan. I left Luna on the kitchen counter and the bathroom was in the kitchen. If I could make it there and grab Luna I could just lock myself in the bathroom for the night. Yeah that’ll keep me safe from mister creepy! I got out of bed and went over to the dresser. I never sleep with anything on so I got out a t-shirt put on my favorite Pokémon underwear and put on some shorts. I walked over to the door and stopped as a thought hit me. I ran to my closet and grabbed my Nerf blaster. Now I was ready!

I walked over to the door, quietly undid the lock it. The squeaks the door made sounded deafening in the silence. When it was open wide enough I looked down the long hallway and could see the stairs at the other end. There were other doors along the hallway but they were all closed. Holding my blaster in front of me I slowly and quietly made my way to the stairs and looked down. I gave a small yip as some lightning from the window lit the area up. I saw clearly for a second that there was nothing there. Looking around I saw the light switch for the stair way. I reached up and flicked it. Nothing. The power was out. Now I was getting really scared. I wanted to go back to my room but I needed to get my Luna plushie and use the bathroom. Looking down the stairs again I took a deep breath and started walking. The stairs creaked and the occasional lightning lit up the area but I didn’t see anything scary or out of place.

After what felt like forever I reached the bottom stair and looked around swinging my blaster at the hallway. There was nothing here. What was I being scared of? The dark? That’s silly! I’m a big snow leopard nothing can scare me! Filled with new found confidence I walked into the kitchen and went to the counter where I left Luna. The counter was in the middle of the kitchen attached to the stove and I couldn’t quite see the top of it clearly. So I jumped a few times and looked around. But where was Luna? I jumped again and grabbed the counter top with my paws and looked around. She wasn’t there. But I could have sworn I left her right there before I went up. Confused and tired I sat down on the floor with my back to the counter. ‘Where was she?’ I thought to myself. Just then a large flash of lightning lit up the kitchen and on the far wall I saw the outline of a monster! It had big wings and a horn! It wasn’t the alien from the movie it was worse! After the flash I slowly looked around the edge of the counter. I saw the window above the sink where the light came from but there wasn’t anything there that looked like a monster. The window was slightly open with a nice cool breeze coming through but that was all. I put my back against the wall and sat down again. I lifted up my blaster and made double sure it was loaded. If there was anything there it was getting Nerfed! Even though I sounded brave I was really scared and pulled my legs in and hugged them to me. My tail went between my legs and my ears were twitching. There’s nothing there dummy it was just a flash of lightning. My stomach made a noise and I knew I had to go to the potty soon. The bathroom was around the corner on the other side of the kitchen. I can make it there, at least that’s what I told myself just as another bolt of lightning struck.

I could see the creature again this time its wings were moving and it seemed to be swaying towards me. I dropped my blaster, screamed, and hugged my legs tighter to myself and my tail wrapped around one of my feet. Another bolt hit and a loud thunder bang came with it. I saw it again and I screamed again and hid my face in my arms which were still holding my legs for dear life! My mind went blank with fear and I felt a great warmth spread between my legs and move down to my butt. My bottom felt very warm my tail was getting wet where the pee leaked out of my pants. I was breathing very fast now smelling the pee in the puddle around me. I opened my eyes and looked down at myself. My shorts were dark in the front and my tail that was still between my legs was soaked. I bet that Mr. monster is laughing at me right now. Well I’ll show him! I picked up my blaster and pumped up the air chamber. Okay meanie take this! “Say hello to my little friend!” I said as I stood up and turned my blaster to face the window. But the monster didn’t just say hello. A bolt of lightning struck and a gust of wind blew the window open and the monster flew at me! I screamed and my eyes went wide! I shot off 4 nerf darts but the monster still came. A big, warm, and soft lump filled my undies as the monster hit me. I started to cry and sat back on the floor. The poopy in my undies smooshed around my bottom as I settled down. Just then the lights flickered back on.
I opened my eyes and saw my princess Luna plushie in front of me with a Nerf dart stuck in her mane. I picked her up and looked at her. Then I stood up and looked back at the window. A monster with two big wings and a horn? It was just Luna’s shadow?! I felt so embarrassed and silly. Then I started laughing. I hugged Luna to me and started to waddle myself to the upstairs shower. I didn’t need to go potty anymore but I definitely needed a bath!
