I found this towering behemoth on the SW portion of the Blue Trail, at the 110m level, in the Malcolm Knapp UBC Research Forest, on Tuesday. It was clearly a century or older in age, and without tying a tape measure around its base, there was no way to clearly capture its gargantuan size with the camera. Most of the plots in that forest are second and third growth, very few of the original trees still stand.
