Standing at the 200 meter level, looking up toward the 250 meter level, above Goose Lake, in the western portion of the Malcolm Knapp UBC Research Forest, on Tuesday.
Google Maps shows that hillside as being treed, but Google Earth reveals that it was entirely clear-cut last year. The cut goes down to about 10 meters from the lake's shoreline, and the slash and invading berry vines are entirely awful to climb through.
