C.O.W.S: Episode 1, P2 (Weird And Wonderful)
<< FIRST | PREV | NEXT >>
Music involved with this part;
Fall Out Boy - Irresistible ft. Demi Lovato (Handsome Greg's Theme)
Capital Cities - Safe and Sound (DJ Frankenwolf's Theme)
Krewella - Ring Of Fire (Sable's Theme)
R.E.M. - The Great Beyond (Glimpse's Theme)
Scotland The Brave (Kallan's Theme)
Fatboy Slim - Rockafeller Skank (Ryltohn's Theme)
Вика Цыганова - Смуглянка (Skinner's Theme)
Aaand after much delay, we've finally got into the action! This took... waaay longer than I expected to write. I feel perhaps I may've somewhat underestimated the project. Nevertheless, here we are, with the first episode underway!
I admit there may be a few teething problems right now. Primarily, need to get used to the commentary team and how exactly they bounce off each other. Not 100% I've nailed some of the personalities in there just right - for instance, not sure if I made Sable over-aggressive in certain instances. Gonna be a fine balancing act to get all of them sounding right and build up that chemistry between the characters.
The matches themselves, I'm mostly happy with. The first stood as more of a standard fight - hope I got plenty of back and forth in there, though sometimes it can be quite hard to guess how others will percieve things from behind the writer's desk. It also allowed me to play around with certain aspects I love to explore, in terms of 'How different would certain roles be in a world with anthros?' Obviously, this being wrestling, in this case it's exploring how anthro characters can afford to add things into their wrestling repertoires moves non-applicable to standard humans. Things such as tail-whips, or submission moves designed around opponents who have wings. Expect more of that sort of thing in the future! Though maybe not as heavy as I went on it in this match.
The second match I'm less happy with - reading back I perhaps wasn't quite as colourful with my language in places, and at times just resorted to swapping between 'listing moves' and 'story-telling spots'. Once more, that'll be a matter in future of just ironing things out.
Still, I've babbled enough, I hope you guys enjoyed the piece! Aaand I hope noone was horrendously offended by my portrayal of their characters! If I did offend, uh... sorry? ;-;
(Also I ran out of keyword space, whoops. Gonna have to define those better in future.)

thems lots of words wow
But it was a genuinely fantastic read! Particularly fond of the second fight actually, there's just something about Skinner, and Ryltohn trying to comprehend him, that just tickles my fancy. And Skinner just in general. We need more characters like that.
Also? You wrote DJ Frankenfluff brilliantly. Fight me irl

Ahaha, I can understand why the end of the second match might be frustrating. Curious about what frustrated you about the first!
As for these first few matches, it's literally a case of coin-flip to determine a winner for the majority of the first few matches. How they win, why they win, etc. - that's down to me. WHO wins to start with though, I'm randomising.
This isn't a permanent thing, it's just for the sake of set-up. Gives everyone an even chance at things like who starts with the championships and such. Once the basics are established though... well, everything will start coming more down to the storylines I think I can tell and the feuds I think I can run with those set-ups.
I will admit to having also tweaked the outcome of certain flips if I think I can pull it into an interesting story of sorts. The long-run plots and feuds will really be the point of C.O.W.S, so those take priority above all!
