Oh yeah…Lavander is a pegasister, too. So we managed to come up with this ponysona for her.
Same name as her fursona because Lavander is a good pony name too, suits her too perfectly, can’t be bothered to try and come up with anything better.
VERY happy with how this turned out.
Her backstory pretty much explains all the info on the sheet.
…
Originally from Buckarest in Romaneia, Lavander had quite a difficult upbringing.
Between her controlling parents at home, the bullies and so-called friends at school and the general broken-down nature of the entire country, Lavander wanted nothing more than to hide away, and never be seen by anyone.
And so her wish was granted, on a particularly bad day where an incident at school left her embarrassed with everyone’s attention on her in a very negative way, when suddenly….she vanished. Right in front of everypony’s eyes…just, one second she was there…the next…gone.
She wasn’t sure what to make of everypony’s reaction…she thought it was just another one of their mean pranks, everyone just suddenly pretending she was invisible just as some elaborate trick to make even more fun of her.
That was until she retreated into the girl’s bathroom and tried to see herself in the mirror…only…she couldn’t….she was invisible…honestly and truly invisible!
She worked out that her unicorn magic was doing this…so she tried to relax and deactivate it…and once she was visible again…she immediately noticed, where once her flank was blank, there, instead, sat her cutie mark…a half-invisible masquerade mask.
She decided to look up invisibility magic in her school library…but found nothing…then libraries around the city, still nothing.
So she asked an old professor of magic at her school about it…and he explained that invisibility magic was nigh-on unheard of in all the history of all the lands from Romaneia to Equestria, Saddle Arabia to the Crystal Empire and everywhere in between.
Even Starswirl the Bearded himself tried to find a way to make objects and himself invisible.
At first he thought it would be a simple spell, something to study on the side when not busy with other, more important spells and research…until he started to find it was a lot harder than he could ever have imagined. After much fruitless endeavour, he deemed it impossible for anypony or anything to be made invisible with magic.
Then Lavander showed the professor her talent.
The professor nearly fainted on the spot, he was so flabbergasted.
He wanted Lavander to show off her unique ability to the world…she had achieved something deemed impossible by Starswirl the Bearded!
But Lavander was incredibly shy…she didn’t like having the whole school’s attention being on her, so to have the entire world wanting to witness her incredible feat of invisibility magic…that was too much to even think about!
She freaked out at the idea, went invisible again, and ran.
And just kept running.
She didn’t care where she went. She just wanted to hide from the world.
She eventually wound up in a secluded valley far off in the mountains, far from civilisation.
Hiding in some bushes with a view of a large, gorgeous lake, she was just about to settle down and collect her thoughts when suddenly…
He touched down on the lake’s shore.
A Pegasus? Way out here? Why?
She kept herself hidden and watched him just stand there.
Then a voice…his voice.
“It’s no use hiding…I know you’re there.”
What? He knew she was there? How?
He turned around…he was staring right at her…but…then he seemed confused.
“Huh?”
He walked up closer to her.
She froze, unsure of what to do.
He stopped a mere hoof step in front of her face, and seemed to examine her as if he could see her clear as day.
“Oh…I see…an invisibility spell…interesting…didn’t know unicorns could make themselves invisible. Learn something new every day” He said so matter-of-factly.
Lavander stayed quiet and invisible, she didn’t know how to react to this Pegasus talking to her as if he could see her plain as day when she was cloaked in her spell.
“Don’t be afraid…I won’t bite…hard.” He says gently.
Lavander giggled a little bit at the Pegasus’ joke…but then eeped as she caught herself giggling.
The Pegasus smiled.
Lavander sighed and lowered her spell.
“Hi.” He said happily.
“Um…Hi…” Lavander replied shyly.
“What’re you doing way out here?” He asked
“Trying to hide…” Lavander murmured out
“I can see that…” He responded half-jokingly “…well, you can’t get much more hidden than here, I guess.” He added. “So who’re you hiding from?”
Lavander paused, thinking about her answer, but she couldn’t think of a better way to sum it up than…
“The world”
The Pegasus got that confused look on his face again, tilting his head slightly.
“Come again?” He asked.
“It’s kind of a long story…” Lavander said sheepishly.
“Oooh, I love long stories!” The Pegasus announced gleefully. “Go on, then. I got time.”
Some time passes as Lavander explained pretty much her life story up to this point.
“…and then I ended up here, where you found me.” She finished. “By the way…how…exactly…DID you find me here?” She asked, a confused look of her own on her face.
“Oh, uh…” The Pegasus was caught a little off-guard by this question. “…well, see…to put a needlessly long, complicated and possibly very confusing explanation short, one of the attributes of my special talent is it allows me to sense disturbances in the natural flow of air in my vicinity...like the ones created when the air flow is blocked by your physical body and has to flow around you.”
He pauses, noticing that Lavander doesn’t look any less confused.
“In other words…” He continues “…I may not have been able to see you with my eyes, but I can still see you with my wings…sort of.”
“Uhhh…okay, I think I understand…” Lavander uttered.
“You don’t seem very sure about that…” The Pegasus observed “Well, if even the condensed, not-totally-accurate version of the explanation has you flummoxed, then Celestia help you with the proper, full explanation.”
“Guess I don’t really need to know.” Lavander shrugged “So…” she continued “…why are YOU all the way out here?” She asked.
The Pegasus was caught a bit off-guard again. “Man, you’re right on the ball, aren’t you?” He commented rhetorically. “Well…you know how I said my ability to ‘see’ you was just one of the attributes of my special talent?”
“That’s suggesting to me that some kinda air-related sixth sense is not all your special talent is, yes?” Lavander responded.
Without a word, Typhoon turned and faced away from Lavander and towards the lake…he slowly raised his wings…as high as they can go…and then quickly beat them forward a few times…and immediately the entire lake parted clean in two from sheer force of wind, huge waves of water splashing the sides of the valley. Luckily they were in pretty much a huge bowl so it didn’t flood out anywhere and much of the lake flowed back to where it originally rested.
Lavander’s jaw practically dropped on the floor.
“That’s my actual special talent” announced the Pegasus “I can create winds of off-the-scale strength with little effort.”
Lavander’s jaw was still hanging loose by a thread.
“My air-related sixth sense just came from a long training regimen of learning to control this destructive power of mine” He added.
“Wow” Lavander said simply.
“Yup” the Pegasus replied just as simply.
“I used to come here to train with an old Pegasus guru who knew all there is to know about wind and air currents and what have you…he helped me learn how to control my power.” He explained.
“Uh-huh…” replied Lavander
“He…passed away the other day…” he added dejectedly.
“Oh…I see…I’m so sorry to hear that” Lavander said solemnly.
“Ah, it’s no big deal, he lived a full, happy life.” Typhoon said with a smile. “So I decided to come back here…kind of my way of saying goodbye to the old man, you know?”
“I can understand that” Lavander nodded.
The two stared out across the lake, watching the water still rather violently rippling all over the place as it steadily settled back into the calm lake it once was.
“So, what’s your name, cutie?” The Pegasus asked finally.
Lavander was the one to be caught off-guard this time…she blushed…and subconsciously started to go invisible again.
“Um…I…Uh…” She stammered.
The Pegasus grinned as Lavander composed herself and became visible again.
“…Lavander…my name’s Lavander.” She said finally.
“Lavander…like the flower…nice…” commented the Pegasus “…suits you perfectly” He added with a smile.
Lavander smiled back. “What’s yours?” She asked.
“Typhoon” the Pegasus responded. “You don’t need to tell me my name suits me perfectly too” He added, rolling his eyes.
Lavander giggled again.
The two looked across the lake again.
“Tell you what, Lavander…I’ll be happy to help you hide from the world if you like.” Typhoon offered.
Lavander looked at him hesitantly…and, despite the scarily phenomenal power he had demonstrated, something about him made her feel…safe…as if he could indeed, not just hide her from the world, but protect her from it too, for as long as she needed. She blushed slightly.
“You know something? I think I’d like that” She said to him with a sweet smile.
Typhoon took her with him back to Manechester.
In time, with Typhoon’s help, she grew confident enough to go out and eventually find a job as an assistant nurse at a local hospital, as she always felt she would be happy helping other ponies.
She keeps her special talent a secret, always being conscious to try not to let it activate in view of anypony.
Whenever anypony asks about her cutie mark, she explains it’s to do with masks, and the semi-invisibility nature of it kind of reflects the masking nature of masks themselves.
They seem to buy it.
…
Aside from the impressive feat of achieving the nigh-unheard of magical ability of invisibility, Lavander’s general unicorn magic is not really any more or less powerful than any other unicorn.
She rarely gets the opportunity to be generous to be anypony.
She’s quite honest, though. She very rarely, if ever, lies to anypony.
And she has a great sense of humour, as evidenced by her ability to be almost as random and silly as her beloved Typhoon.
She’s quite kind, too. Again, about as much as Typhoon is.
But where she really shines is her loyalty…she is extremely loyal to anybody she cares about and who cares about her. It’s definitely her best quality.
Same name as her fursona because Lavander is a good pony name too, suits her too perfectly, can’t be bothered to try and come up with anything better.
