ok ok ok this is the last one for a while I promise. I got it all standing, as seen in the top pic, but I guess I got a little hairspray/hair glue happy and made it all top heavy, so it got uh... flaccid after about half an hour. At first I was disappointed, but now I'm digging the "angler fish" look haha.
Sorry for all the spamming of myspace-esque pics. At least you guys get to see what part of my room looks like.

You need some Got2Bglued hair glue. It costs $6.50 for a tube, but it's stronger than freaking elmers glue. It borders on being unnecessarily strong. If you used it to do those, those spikes would not be gone until you spent 15 minutes trying to wash it out, or took a hedgetrimmer to them.
hrm, I did use that, along with the freeze spray, but I dunno, my hair has always been extremely rebellious. Maybe I'm just not doing it right haha. The front spike is pretty damn long (a little over a foot long I think) and I did end up headbanging and running around the house being generally insane. I'll give it another try tomorrow I think.
Hmm. Odd. That stuff is capable of keeping my hair in check and letting me spike it backwards. Given the opportunity, my hair will stick straight out even after 3" long. It is hard to make do anything.
I know that spikes like that ARE doable that they'll stay, just gotta figure out how to do them correctly.
