It's actually an artwork project completed in 2005 by Jenny Holzer featuring quotes from books important books that tell compelling stories about Pittsburgh. More information about this artwork piece can be found here: http://pittsburghartplaces.org/accounts/view/65
I also believe there's a plaque about this artwork on the roof top terrace some where in that area there.
I find it to be a very unique piece of artwork and I love it. She does need some TLC to fix some of the broken LED Tubes.

I never saw a plaque. I thought it was just whatever they wanted. I knew there were novels going across because last year I stood there and read for awhile.
Fair enough. Speaking of art installations, it's too bad AC didn't have Migration(Empire). I should ask the artist for next year. He'd probably want to charge a lot, but it doesn't hurt to ask!
