Astounding work done by, once again, the quite terribly awesome
Solar-Paragon. You can see the original commission file here, and as usual all favorites involving the art have been more than earned by their magnificent work!
Silariel is a mana dragon! This amazing artwork is © Solar-Paragon
Silariel and her concept are © me, Emberell
I did not create the idea of mana dragons! They are © Square Enix. She isn't one of theirs! Silariel is a fan-inspired creation. But proper credit should be given! I do not own Square Enix, nor any of their trademarks.
Silariel is... almost entirely different from Ayla. Even just the concept: Ayla was always supposed to look the stereotypical dragon. What sets her apart is her mind, her experiences, the kind of person (or dragon!) that she is!
Silariel... right from the start I wanted Silariel to be unique. She's... everything I could give to a dragon. Magic? She's got that in spades! In fact, even more so, her element is Holy, rather than fire - from the natural light breath weapon to holy mastery of healing spells. She is regal, resplendent, ancient and more than a little draconic. Her lair, a great and grand palace in the sky, is home to all her treasures - a grand hoard of memories and gold both.
Basically, I wanted a dragon that could be everything that Ayla couldn't. Silariel incorporates everything I've learned that I love in RPs - from warm, delightful softness to... well, she does have a tailmaw! From what little experience I've had with her, I've found I truly enjoy just going all out, being and doing... in predatory and draconic ways that Ayla could never enjoy.
Unlike Ayla, Silariel is a lot less prone to heated debate. Certainly, she'll speak her mind, and powerfully so - but she's not one to question, or to rain down an avalanche of words. While I really, really love that about Ayla, it really gets in the way sometimes of just unwinding and having fun with the character themself, and everything seems to turn dire and important with her, even the lightest of conversations! Silariel is not nearly as well versed in half the things Ayla is - as a dragon, Ayla is kind of uniquely a bookworm. I'm really curious to know what would go on if they met!
A few other miscellaneous things I might bring up. Her blood, as mentioned in the reference, is actually ichor. That makes it really, really powerful as a magical reagent, on top of the normal properties it shares with dragon blood That change in her biochemistry affects a lot, though ,from her inner workings to subtle things, like her breath. It smells sweet, like cherry blossoms! And her fur has a natural draconic spice and scent in it, not so much a heavy and animalistic scent as a reassuring and alluring perfume. With her magic, she can also alter her size to anything less than or equal to her original size. Generally, she'll only do this to be more on an eye-to-eye level with the people she's around - whether those people are smaller dragons, or regular humans - or anything in between.
Of course, like all of my characters... she has her own story and life, drives wants, ambitions... she's a full fledged character! But I won't get into much of that here - this isn't the right place. For the curious... well, one would have to meet her! I don't RP too much these days, though, so if there is anything that stands out, feel free to ask!
Silariel is... odd. I guess she's a representation of everything I enjoy most about being. If I could choose my form at will... But I can't! It's fascinating to explore the rather different capabilities of a dragon like a mana dragon with her, as well as the intricacies of magic.
Again... in compare to a regular, average Joe, Silariel is... distressingly powerful. But she is a dragon! Not just any dragon, but she has the experience and study as a priestess, under a peerless instructor in the arts of holy magic. She's not one to easily trifle with! I don't mean to use her in such a sense, but she can be a terribly potent character, when push comes to shove.
But this is... well, this is who I'll be playing most now, to let Ayla be in her comfort zone! A soft, teasing, fluffy dragoness... with fur and feathers and paws, ready to kidnap the unwary friend away and do terribly warm things to them all day long! ~.=.^

Not quite. It acts, generally, in accordance to instinct. Like most tails, when she's not paying attention to it, it'll sway back and forth, or mirror her mood. I think your question is more to do with the flower, though - and that won't open unless she wills it to. Occasionally, if she's hungry enough, it may act on its own to enthrall prey, but it takes long enough to do so that she can stop it should she choose to do so. It's less like a second head, and more like a tail, if that makes sense?
