Further adventures in A&K-2! As part of the Celestial Naval Forces of Heaven, all ships that travel the Sea of Ether carry Marine units for security, boarding actions, and on-shore duties. The Marines are divided into heavy and light units depending on their equipment and primary tactical mission.

This is an example of Heavy Marine Armor. Yes, my subconscious has been heavily influenced by Masume Shirow so it is not surprising that my the heavy armor has a certain Landmate-quality to it. The armor provides not protection spells, explosions, and weapons fire, but it also has full environmental protection which allows the marine to operate outside the ship in the Ether. It is usually covered with rune markings and talismans which provide protection to the wearer but I left most of those off in this sketch so I could better see the shape of the suit.

The suit not only amplifies the strength, both physically and spiritually, of the wearer, but it also enhances mobility and payload options of the wearer. The vertical projections on the back are emitters for Wings of Light which allow the marine to fly short distances in the Ether. While a variety of weapons can be carried by the Heavy Marine Units, the primary weapon combo is the cabalic carbine and the medium assault shield.
