It may not be that related and I may not be remembering things correctly, as it's been a while since I've had any exposure to the series, but this is kind of reminding of this society of mice in Lone Wolf.
I should go back and download the DS homebrew version of it or get the Steam version.

Do keep in mind, however, that the series is not very populated by anthropomorphic characters and I think that the mouse people were in a branching plot line(meaning you might not encounter them based on your choices).
