Well, I have tried myself with digital art a while back, that flat colored dragon headshot is so far the only thing I feel not ashamed to show that came out XD
I had stopped for a bit, but am going to start again and wanted to ask for some more tips than I have so far about shading, because by now every attempt failed horribly <>w<>
The character (so far nameless) belongs to me
Artwork was done by me

When shading you need to figure out where your light source is. (Obviously xD) use logic as to where you should put the basic shadows (like under the chin the neck and ears) And then find some other references as to where you should put more detailed shadows (e.g. in the eye sockets and muzzle details) you will get better with time so don't get discouraged by your results ^-^ my first drawings where hideous! xD
Also I saw you and Mez in my dream last night :3
