So this is what happens when my brain takes it artistic outlet in my cooking.
The classic Horseshoe, a hometown favorite of those in Illinois, especially Springfield area, with a Japanese twist.
And more veggies.
It was yummy! The whole family liked it and the cheese sauce went great with everything! Going to add a few more colors next time.. Red cabbage and some corn, but it fun!
2 Chicken breast, marinated in Shiokoji, ( but any type of chicken or meat That would pare with cheese will work fine) and chunked into bite sized pieces.
Bag of preferred frozen vegetables. Enough for four servings.
2/3 onion chopped up.
Sautéed together, with a lid over it.
Bag of potato wedges, drizzled with olive oil and baked crispy, then slightly salted,
Have this finish last.
Sticky rice, with your chose of seasoning. I loved it with black sesame! But shoos was pretty good too!
Form in into a horse shoe by using platinum wrap. Let it sit and cool slightly ( holds the firm better then), and use scissors to cut the plastic wrap away for easy removal. I did this first.
Cheese sauce. This I loved the flavor, but it was a slight bit gritty. Might try some soy sauce with it next time...
4-5 TBSP butter
1/4 onion minced finely
Sautee
Add in
5 TBSP cream
5 TBSP milk
1 Tbsp sake
1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
Then melt
1 1/2 cup shredded sharp cheddar.
1 cup Gouda
Then thicken slightly with a little bit of starch mixed with milk.. About a tsp
Add pepper of spicy something to you liking.
Place horseshoe on plate, veggies and meat go inside the shoe, top with French fried or potato wedges, drizzle cheese sauce generously over the top.
Nomnumnom.
