This is the squadron insignia of the SPA 3 "Cigogne de Guynemer" and also of the EC 1/2 "Cigognes" (Storks), one of the most famous french Wing thanks to its historical past. Indeed, during WWI, the Cigogne Wing was the French, and allied in general, squadron with the most victories and where were gathered the greatest aces of the French Aerial Service such as the 75 victories ace René Fonck, the 53 victories ace Georges Guynemer or less known like Navarre, Roland Garros and many other pilots.
