Chapter 5
Kigyar Hunt

Riley was woken up to someone banging on the door of his quarters, a muffled voice from behind the door said. "Riley, wake up. It's Bennings, Gray wants to talk to you." Bennings sighed. "C'mon, Riley get up!" Riley groaned as he sat up in his bed. "Okay, give me a minute to get my armor on." Bennings waitedk until the door slid open as Riley's tall silhouette emerged from the dark lit room, putting his helmet on as he greeted Bennings. "Good morning my small friend." Riley smiled. "Now what does Gray need to tell me ?" Gray walked over as his tail swayed back and forth. "Ah, yes Agent Vadum. As your first mission I require you and Bennings to investigate a band of Kigyar spies sighted entering the ONI Military Technology Research building in Nevada, or as the people 500 years ago called it Area 51. You have level 3 access to the vehicle bay, that means warthogs only, I don't want to have to explain to ONI why a 5 ton M808B tank is heading for the security checkpoint." Riley agreed. "Yes, sir. No tanks. Don't worry Bennings you can use the radio." Riley and Bennings walked to the vehicle bays. Riley and Bennings walked into the bay revealing a massive amount of vehicles, scorpions, warthogs, mongoose, and others. All the vehicle choices were impressive to Riley, but him and Bennings could only use a warthog. Riley climbed into the drivers seat of the MLRV jeep. Bennings got into the passenger seat, nodded to Riley, he nodded back then ignited the engine as the warthog roared to life. Riley drove the warthog foward, hit the e-brake as the warthog spun to face the bay exit ramp. Rileys gunned the hog foward, as it shoot up the ramp, the warthog hit ramp hard enough for the bumper to hit the ramp sending out sparks. As the warthog emerged in the morning light, Riley did a power slide down the road leaving Canada, heading into the U.S all the way to New Mexico.

ONI Military Technology Research HQ

A grate popped out of it's place in the floor, then was slid across the ground by a pair of tan ,three fingered hands, the Kav leader of the Kigyar infiltration squad, poked her birdlike head out of opening, the blue hue of the R&D labs lights reflected off of her quills. "Jori, Yer, let's go the perimeter is clear. Theres tech we gotta steal for Commander K'ranos." Kav climbed out of the floor as Jori and Yer followed her. Kav cautiously walked over to a table with a piece of tech used for anti-air turrets. "Hmm, Jori, grab that thing over their." Kav pointed to a device that looked like a gauntlet. Jori nodded in agreement and walked over to the device, it had the letters P.D.M painted in white, Jori noticed a symbol on the device ,it was mostly scratched off, it was a capital "E" with stars around it and word Enclave under it. " Kav what does Enclave mean ?" Kav rolled her eyes. "Ugh, we're paid to get the stuff, not examine it. Yer quit exploring before you set of an alarm or cause something else bad to hap..." A warthog busted through a garage door, accidentally squashing an oblivious Yer. The warthog came to a halt dangerously close to Kav, she jumped on the hood of the hog, then threw a plasma grenade which stuck to the headrest behind Riley, his eyes widened as he screamed. "Bennings!! Bail. Now!!!" Riley and Bennings scrambled out of the warthog as the grenade detonated, destroying the warthog and sending Riley flying towards the wall, and Bennings onto a table with lab equipment on it. Kav snickers. "Heh, that takes, care of..." Kav heard something heavy land behind her. "...that." Riley tried to grab Kav, but instead received a strong kick to the face, causing Riley's face to bleed. "Ugh, you little bitch, come here." Kav attempted to claw Riley's face but couldn't move her arm, because someone had grabbed her right arm, Kav looked to see who had her arm, it was the human who accompanied the Sangheili, she tried to rip her arm away from Bennings grip, but couldn't so she yelled for Jori. The next thing that transpired was unexpected to Bennings, Jori the other kigyar came from behind Bennings and smacked him across the back of the head with the strange gauntlet device. This caused Bennings to loose his grip which allowed Kav to dig her claws into the right side of Riley's face. Riley screamed in pain, then grabbed Kav, threw her into an electric field frying her to a crisp. Jori wailed angrily, then received a smack on the top of the head knocking him unconscious. Riley held the bleeding side of his face. "I wish it didn't have to go like that." Bennings replied as he slumped Jori over his shoulder. "Well, what else could you have done." Riley just realized something. "Um, Bennings how do we get home exactly ? The warthog kind of exploded, and I don't exactly know..." Riley was interrupted by a strange honking sound, Riley looked out of the hole the warthog had made in the garage door, he spied a red warthog driving full blast towards them, kicking up waves of sand as it approached the hole in the door, Riley realized who was driving the vehicle, it was Erin. She smiled, then said. "You guys need a lift?" Riley was surprised as to how Erin knew there hog was destroyed, so he asked. "How did you know our warthog was destroyed, and how did you get here so fast?" Erin replied. "Every warthog is set up with a tracking device, but since we couldn't track you, something obviously happened to the warthog. So I requested a pelican airlift, that's how I got here so fast." Riley and Bennings got in the hog, tied up the surviving Kigyar, threw him in the truck bed, and drove home. But little did they know that the Kigyar still had the strange device and it certainly didn't belong to the UNSC, who ever the Enclave is, it's possible that they'll probably want to take back what's theirs.
