King Silverfire died in 2083 at the age of 80 and his wife Queen Felina died a few years later from a broken heart.
Their oldest son Marius became king at the age of 25, only to die from a serious illness ten years later. Several attempts were made to prevent the King's eldest daughter, princess Malika from becoming queen because of the fact she looks more like a Catatonion than a mouse. The Martians had a hard enough time accepting her mother Felina as their queen and they weren't so sure if they could stomach the idea of having another Catatonion queen rule their kingdom. Then her younger brother Sirius became king, only to cause a civil war with the rats, which is why peace was never made between the two races. After he died in the battle field, they tried to make Lavinia, her younger sister queen, but she refused the title and passed the crown to Malaika. She succeeded the throne as a single woman, taking the role of a king and ruled the Firestorm kingdom 60 years. The people of Firestorm learned to accept her and realized that there's good and bad to every race, even Plutarkians. They also found it pretty ironic that their former enemy was capable of bringing a war torn kingdom to a new golden age. Through King Vincent, King Silverfire, and Queen Malaika, the Firestorm/van Wham dynasty produced the 3 most famous monarchs in Martian history.
