At my shop, $105/hr is our rate. I make $16 of that. So to do a timing belt/water pump, 5 hours, I get $80. And I get paid that whether it gets done in 3 hours, or if I break something and it takes 2 days. What you should really look at is parts markup, industry standard is 50%
