Cult of Quetzl - Lizardman Warband
Some of my painted Warhammer Lizardmen models. I don't play full fantasy, but rather Mordheim, a small warband-based game with max caps at 20-25 models per warband (mine usually gets 9). I'm calling them the Cult of Quetzl because I tend to have better than average armor save rolls, and Quetzl is the Lizardman god that deals with their natural armor. That doesn't save me from losing 9 out of 10 games I play though. ;)
YES I KNOW A LOT OF NERD GOING ON O.O Just look at the little guys.
Top Row (left to right): Skink Chief with a tomb kings sword, my old skink priest, my NEW heavily-converted skink priest made from a skink chief model with bits from tomb kings and a temple guard standard.
Bottom Row: some of my saurus; my totem warrior, a temple guard, a scar veteran, and a regular saurus I gave the head of the Krog'Gar character model.
approx. 2" tall, converted priest is 3" tall with his staff

They JUST redid their codex, and came out with a bunch of new models. I LOVE the new temple guard and kroxigores, but the new Stegadon... the top looks awesome, but the dino itself looks like a wrinkled sack of meat. :( I mean, I don't have room in a mordheim band for a Stegadon so it doesn't matter much to me, but still...

well you do have the Salamander chapter who wear scaley cloaks and a lot of lizard iconography on their stuff, and the general uniform is green. But if you want lizard marines that's dead easy :3
You take a chaos Tzeentch force and some plastic saurus heads from the lizardmen boxes and convert mutant marines that're mutated into lizards :D it'd be a really cool army too. And you can even use the giant Kroxigor or giant reptile models to represent daemons and daemon princes.

I've had a tau army and a nid army t the same time, never finished either, then sold em, now I bought a dark edlar and ork army up from scratch, neither are complete (not painted but conversion works done on the orks), but that doesn't stop us :P
Well if you want I know the perfect person to talk to about army lists, my friend Shardfire (he's on here) is the best player I know hands down. I've not seen him lose a game and each list he makes I can't fault. Of course it's the flavour and fun of an army that matters but if you want to just get some tips on how to make your army work, then he's the guy to talk to.
Though I'm sure Bob is also plenty helpful ;P
Yeah so a lizard themed chaos army would look freakin' cool! Imagine the discs of Tzeentch with lizard heads sprouting from them and screaming. I kinda did similar for my dark eldar warp beasts. I used Wood Elf horses (whispy magi things on their feet) and the new chaos spawn sprues (so much mutation stuff on there it's REALLY good value) and made Daemon unicorns of freaky.

Whoops, forgot to add. For a tzeentch lizard army I'm thinking maybe use the imperial guard codex instead and have them be freaky cultists or use the new all daemon lists, either way to get cavlary style units. Then you can take the new cold ones (which I like) and slap mutations and purple fire on them till they are no longer recognisable as regular creatures.

that's some very fine paintwork and conversion done there. Hmm, let me think about that banner holder you're tyring to recall how to make. Hmmm
in fact the whole model is the Skink Chief with scythe and shield with the shield left off and the scythe clipped away, probably drilled out and in its place the banner pole from the sauras box set I think as it's not in any of the pics I can find and the army in general has no dedicated banner holding Lord/Hero choice

I thought the circle was a tombkings banner! yes that makes a lot more sense now, think I know which one it is too. It's from the standard skeleton warrior sprue, the same top was used as this guys helmet/mask

message to imperal adventurers in Lustvia: Quetzl worshipers are dangerious due to unnatural luck imparted by their heathen god.
to counter this requires both faith and strategic skill, do not rely upon magic due to their luck.
and remember
Passage 5.22.9351 "Rely upon Sigmar and thyself, for men make their own luck"
It occurs to me why do we have so many passages in the holy tome?
final letter of Father Von Kruk before being exicuted for heresy

I am not into the medieval version of warhammer but I do admire the detailed painting you did on these models, especially on the thick scale shields and that big golden sun icon.
Some great looking models.
It's good to find another warhammer nerd / artist here <D

I do!! And there's a picture in there of a new standard barer with a big circular stone thing that I want SO BAD but I can't find it on any of the GW sites! :( But yeah I have it, not much of it applies to Mordheim but I felt compelled to own it. I have to support my fellow lizards, yo.

Kiit has a bunch of lizardman stuff under the stairs (beside the 12,000 points of old blood dragon vampire counts and 3000 points of old prearmy book wood elves {used list outta a chronicals}) Kiit stopped playing after the wood elf book came out. if you wanted you could get them from Kiit, had big t-rex mount, knights, bunch of skinks, and warriors, might have an old old slaan (been a number of years since having done anything GW based)

I wish I hadn't such a huge backlog of pictures to look at... then I could comment in time :P
Anyway, those look neat! Nice work on both, conversions and paintjob. Your bases need work though ;)
BTW, that new standard bearer will be released this month, on the 16th, I think. And you should be able to find some of the old temple guard easily enough on ebay.

Mordheim is the only GW game I have any fun with anymore. I lost interest in 40k some time ago.
Do you actually use these guys in Mordheim itself, or other settings like Lustria, Khemri, etc?
Love the (what Im assuming is) heart in the one skink's hand. Makes me think Temple of Doom.

I used the lustria expansion for the rules for the warband itself, but we don't use Lustria scenario rules. Just the standard ones. I'd like to give some of them a try sometime, but right now we have a hard enough time remembering all the regular stuff to start adding things in.
