I only have these two. Though there IS tau in my house, but they don't belong to me, they're
pvpbob's.
pvpbob's.
Not YET... I plan on doing a Godzilla 'nids army, and the biggest hold back to that is the fact that this guy is my only carnifex. ;) There's a 3-pack of fexes that I can buy for $90, I just need the funds to get it.
I do have a circle of friends that all play 40K, so once my army gets up and going I'll hopefully be stomping all sorts of IG & deathguard & tau face. >:D

I see, I normally only see a fex built this way for an elite choice....I personally prefer the 'dakka-dakka' fex (two sets of devourers) or the sniper fex (venom cannon and/or barbed strangler)
I believe against IG and Tau swarm nids usually do better but meh. Ironicly I was thinking about selling my bugs

my next 3 fexes will definitely be Barbed Strangler/Scything talons. a S8 / 36" range pieplate is WAY too useful, expecially fighting Chaos Marines. HAHAHA suck on that, Nurgle-lovers! Where's your Feel-no-pain save NOW?!?
...yeah. heh ;) This guy was put together before I'd settled on a strategy. The crab claws are just too awesome NOT to put on at least one model. And I'd like to have at least one H2H fex on the table, even if most of the others'll be shootie.

The guys I play with aren't as strict with "what you see is what you get" type play. Their motto is "if they are holding a gun, they have any kind of gun. Just declare it before the game starts and if it could get confusing, put a marker on them". I've thought about it, but after seeing all the issues
pvpbob had trying to magnatize his tau, I'm kinda scared to try.

I knew that name Onyxia sounded familiar! And a friend has drawn me into WoW, too...I'm another victim.
Plus, since I started playing those Dawn of War games, I started reading up on "WAR40K lore" or whatever. It's pretty cool stuff. The dorkness corruption also runs through my veins.
And that's a huge figurine.

I must admit, the 'nid do have a very strong appeal, but I haven't really got anyone to battle, so I can't really justify spending the money to get a decent army going. :c
As it is, I've got a couple dozen gaunts, three or four warriors (not sure how many I've cannibalized for daemon princes at this point) and three semi-old zoanthropes (sp?). Nothing too impressive, really.
Also, I generally lose anyhow, so bleh.

Lookin' good I like your colour blending to create the fiery styles. I'm not so good at the freehanded stuff though when I'm done with the warboss I'd love to get your appraisal of the paintwork on 'im :D
was well chuffed with how his conversion turned out: http://www.furaffinity.net/full/1244220/ hmm he'd be eye level with your fexes easy, that's how big he is xD

The first game I ever watch was someone playing I think either Dark Eldar or Tao versus Dark Eldar/Tao (whatever the other wasn't playing) teamed up with someone using 'nids, mostly just gene stealers though. During deployment or something, the one guy got three attacks before the game even started. That game didn't last long...
I love this fex...nice, unique color palette and just so much more alive than most I have seen, even Golden Demon winners. Maybe it'sbecause you don't have a base for him...I don't know...but love him. Also, this fex is the standard version for DOW2 right now...claws and scythes.
yay carnifex! I almost got into WH40K a couple years ago and if I had tyranid would definitely have been my army of choice. Two main things kept me from doing it. 1) no-one else I know was serious about getting into playing and collecting, and 2) I didn't like the idea of having to paint 50 Termagants exactly the same.
#2 was my reason for going with a Godzilla-style army. It's based around lots of fexes (we can field 6 at a time now), tyrant as HQ, and my troops as more expensive but more efficient genestealers. Possibly some Licters and Raveners thrown in. We don't get the numbers, but we make up for it in power; my entire army either has rending or outright ignores armor saves, AND most are independant so I don't have to worry about a couple synapse guys going down & my entire army running (like a gaunt-based army would be)
Yeah I knew you were into the game but when i was thinking about getting into it, was around the time you moved away. Right now not sure if I would want to get into the game, partially because I don't really need another money drain right now. And as much fun as WH looks it is also a lot of money to equip even a decent army.
This is an awesome Carnifax model. I love that level of detail you put into the Carapace armor of the lumbering giant. The painting detail and highlights look gorgeous.
I'm more of a Chaos Space Marine myself, they offer more chances for deformation in the models and unique character designs.
And as one Warhammer 40 K nerd to another...BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD! XENO SCUM! <3.

well.... As much as I'd love to put wings on my tyrant for mobility, paying 45 points for a guard that basically just adds 2 wounds to my tyrant is too good.
I AM actually converting a large tyranid dragon model from an otherwise unusable 'fex body, but it might be WAY too big to use as a tyrant.
