ok so. im embarassing. I have a like??? next gen/future au of mlp w a friend and one of the ships is poly rainbow/applejack/rarity and these r their kids bc i live in shame. i wont give the specifics of the au and junk unless any1 asks lol but im proud of these design fusions ngl so here is my consolidated shame
Neo is the oldest and runs a successful bar/nightclub, is a bartender, great with beauty makeup and kind of a greaser (if she were a human shed own a decked out motorcycle lol)
Rough Diamond is an agent!! they are really good at bringing out the best of any and all their clients and good at dressing them up for events, super kind and incredibly honest about their work
Zapple is the kid that stayed home at the farm (applejack is so proud and happy) he's really good at ....well making zap apple jam but in general he's super laid back and natually athletic, likes to be moving and loves to be quiet and alone in his work. his siblings sometimes dress him up/put makeup on him and he enjoys looking nice

in my friend and I's AU, Rarity is a transwoman and Rainbow and Applejack are more or less cis-alligned (so 2 of their children were naturally conceived)
FOLLOWING.....along w AU specifics, Twilight's role as a princess of friendship actually flows naturally into her being a diplomatic ambassador between different nations/kingdoms, so she eventually reopens communications with the changeling empire.....attitudes between the changelings and equestria eventually simmer down as communications continue and eventually they begin collaborating and sharing cultural stuff....including magic! working w changeling magic and twilights aptitude for magic/science (she headed this project) they eventually make a shape shifting potion that shifts ponies natural forms into what they "want" to look like, which is a big deal for a lot of LGBT couples who couldnt naturally conceive before this (they have to either continue taking the potion for the entirety of the pregnancy if one of them is carrying, or take it once to conceive....that kinda thing) and it's also a really big break for a lot of trans ponies because it functions somewhat like HRT in a lot of aspects (the longer you take it the more the effects remain when the potion isnt currently active)
anyway thats my long infodump over this future AU

OOOOhh I love transwoman Rarity!! And dang, that's awesome!!! I'm not much of RPing or writing/reading fanfics, but I really dig having an AU that's just a concept to generate new characters and stuff.

HAHA ya Im actually the same way, I literally never make AUs in other contexts but my best bud enables the hell outa me and we create ....so many aus....its a mess. we have fun
AHAH I MEAN! ya I'd prob phrase it like that. honestly since magic is at such ready disposal in this world I don't think it matters EXACTLY the specs of how it all went down that even before quote unquote "transitioning magically" was available (it was around Rough Diamond's early childhood, they're the middle child and Zapple's the youngest and the only kid conceived that way) that magic being available for like.....different methods for that kind of stuff.

I stopped watching MLP but I'm still so attached to the character design and personalities, I think it's perfect. You mentioned Fluttershy and Treehugger (which was a character I had to research a while ago), and it made me think of these cute drawings by an artist I like: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/20433651/ http://www.furaffinity.net/view/20433678/ http://www.furaffinity.net/view/20433718/ (but in their HC it didn't work out for these two, which made me sad, hahaha. All I want is for FLutter to be happy ;v;)
alSO PINKIE PIE AND CHEESE SANDWICH.... omgosh because CS is voiced by Weird Al and I know he's a grown adult it's a bit weird to ship him with anyone but my heart.... is so weak for this... I NEVER heard of that before, I'm so surprised by looking at this. I've come to identify with specific gender titles but nothing really stuck; I've questioned it enough that I can't quite ID as trans or cis...? POint is, Pinkie Pie not caring being with a demiboy kinda mirrors my relationship and that is rly cute... hahaha /(^A^')

Ya! I getcha. I put more of an emphasis on labels and ppl identifying a variety of diff ways bc I want to normalize all that stuff so I develop what labels they would ID as like....as I develop the character? like i wouldnt start there or end there :- p
OH YA I LOVE JAYROCKINS HAM PONIES theyre good. tbh in the show u could squint ur eyes and pretend they were totally dating bc fluttershy is rlly enamored w her and invites her to a ball??? and hangs out w her a lot super pointedly. i bequeath them: dating

I mean, you arethe first person i've asked about gender labeling characters n stuff (I was always too scared to ask anyone), but i always assumed some artists just threw labels around and expected them to do all the developing of a character's personality. There was a couple of people I followed that acted as such and thus quite intimidated to understand and question it. So this expands my horizons quite a bit :P

I don't want someone to dismiss my thoughts and say 'dang cis ppl'; Even though I get the idea behind the saying, I have some friends I haven't spoke to in a WHIILE and when we hung out we would do jokes about people around us... so now I fear they'd do that to me if I said I don't ID strictly as 'trans' anymore.
