I made Scratch the Sniper because he is tall and gangly. It was not in any way meant to reflect the fact Snipers hang behind the lines and attacks from relative safety like cowards(ie chickens)...That's just an unintentional little bonus. ;)
Simple, I know, but some of the best things are.

I suppose it's a tad harsh, but I think it's a fair comparison considering they perform almost the exact same function Spies do, except they stay safely out of the reach of harm(usually). I know it requires skill in accuracy, and you risk a lot in essentially blinding yourself from the majority of the world in order to pick off key targets. I just don't think it's that fun sitting back while your team is taking all the flak for you, and it very frustrating to be amidst a skirmish and getting pot shotted by some Sniper gleefully out of the reach of any of your weapons.
Personally, as the definition of a noob Pyro, I prefer being in the fray and actually catching stray bullets as I try to light everybody up. I die a lot, but there's a certain satisfaction when I see the bodies of my victims inches from health packs. I could sit back and try to pop people with the Flare Gun, but It's more fun to cause mass panic by igniting the entire opposing team at once. That's my opinion, though. Again, the chicken thing was completely unintentional...I just saw the opportunity to take a shot, so I did. I'm sure we could relate on that. ^^

no offense taken, I usually do scream like a little girl if an enemy manages to sneak up on me, while I'm ventilating skulls.
But then again I usually do get a little too close to the frontline. It's easier to counter-snipe when you have alot of meat-shields guarding you. But risky if they don't stop incoming pyros

It's sort of funny how Snipers tend to focus on eachother. Sure, it's somewhat advantageous, but it distracts them from the actual conflict too, and by the time you get rid of another Sniper, your team may have been decimated because you neglected taking out that Medic/Demo before they gibbed everyone.
Everyone gets surprised occasionally. It's just easier to sneak up on Snipers due to their focused playstyle. It helps if you can listen for footsteps, though. Cloaked Spies aren't as sneaky as they think they are.

Exactly, many forget that an enemy sniper is relatively harmless compared to other classes. He can still only shoot one at the time, while a heavy/medic a close-range can decimate an entire team. And alot of other classes can do the same.
It's just as much a question of managing target values, as it is being a good aim.
Another reason I prefer sticking with my team, is that it offers quite a bit of protection against spies. Instead of just sneaking behind enemy lines and jabbing a blade in your back, they now need to get in a situation where they might die after one kill. instead of a kill they can just walk away from

Sometimes being a noob pays off for me. I tend to wander around places Pyros don't normally frequent...I've caught so many Spies with their pants down cause they didn't expect me to be in there. Sometimes being unorthodox is a good thing...even if you're not trying to do it.
