Bah, there's no such thing as gods. Immortality is achievable, just not through biology. Biology has limits, evolution has limits. This black thing at some point will run into someone that can devour it and treat it like a minor tumor, cosmic horror hinges on the idea that you mean nothing to the universe but that's already truth.
