"Hold it right there," Laiko growled. "They call you the Heartbreak Kid."
Deakin Laredo paused, casually shuffling the deck between his hands as he glanced over his shoulder. "And what of it, cutter?" he drawled wryly.

Just a warmup doodle that turned into a scene. Pardon my artblock, commissioners. Just gettin through it.

Hahaha, this is awesome!! I like waking up to things like this and not a howling puppy. <3 Score! You got D's look down SO perfectly!!!! XD <3 Love it, with the cards and the head tilt and rather bemused expression about Laiko's reaction... (and he's such a neatnik snappy dresser - hahah, the tie and the perfectly floofy tail!)
And Laiko looks summarily non-plussed. Love that you just chose to tip that hat forward and convey all the emotion through his pose and his teeth. As always, Laiko's duster is fantastic, and I love that he's obviously had his gun handy throughout! (And the story, ooooohhhh.... <3)
I like the looseness of the background too - just the fact is, you know it's a bar without having to see details; the gilt on the edges of the mirror, the drink on the bar, not finished, the bottles... etc.
Hey, I sketch all the time to get through my rough art spots, I think everyone out there does and understands totally. <3
