NOTE: You need to be prepared to wait about 2 hours, this is a slow cooked meal!
Ingredients (Per Serve):
Two - Three pieces of Rib eye steak, depending on the side of the cut.
A bottle of Red Wine (Doesn't have to be too fancy)
Star anise (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Star_anise)
A can of whole peeled tomatoes.
Vegetable Stock Cube
Pasta
Method:
In a small pot, place your meat, 2 whole pieces (The whole star) Of star anise and pour some red wine into the pot, until it is about half an inch over the top of the meat.
Leave it for about an hour. (Occasionally checking to make sure the wine hasn't reduced to nothing.)
Now, this is important. Take out the Star Anise at this point, otherwise you may not find all the pods at the end, and they will be very tough, and un pleasant to bite into.
Put in the whole can of whole peeled tomatoes, and another small dash of wine, followed by crumbling one stock cube, and putting it in there.
Mix it through and break up the tomatoes a little.
Let this sit for about 45 minutes, once again checking the fluid levels.
Boil some water and cook a pasta of your choosing, once it is done you can place it in a bowl and pout your meat, and sauce over the top.
Don't worry... the meat may look too big sitting on top of there, but all you really need is a fork... the meat will be so tender it should break apart easily when you put your fork in it.
Quite simple, but tasty. Most of this goes into time management.
~Enjoy!
