Jenny's shoes are made of a special gold alloy, requiring a competent blacksmith like Ballard to re-work her shoes back into shape every time she comes in. The erotic dance group she is a part of doesn't use costume jewelry. If it looks like gold, then it IS gold. She wears hoof boots over top of her shoes so they don't wear excessively from everyday walking about. Jenny turns the clip-clop of her gold shoe'd hooves into it's own form of music on stage. Audiences love it.
Of course Ballard also does regular shoes, for those who want a hand-hammered iron look and feel, instead of mass produced shoes. Sure there are enough sizes so everyone can find something that fits, for those on a budget. However, when it comes to something that is literally nailed to you, becoming a part of your body for the next several weeks, you can't beat something that uses your own hooves as the template.

Very neat. I've always liked the idea of anthro equines wearing shoes for various purposes, including decoration and simply to protect their hooves when need be. I've even got a couple of characters who are farriers to compliment that idea. But most people with equine characters, or at least the ones I've talked to, have seemed to balk at the idea. I love the idea of gold shoes for a dancer, though, and I would imagine that most equines who chose to wear shoes would appreciate the extra care and attention that comes with having a custom fitting. I really like how friendly and gentle Ballard looks here, and this is a lovely picture overall.
