Circe could have ornate chests stuffed with a self-replenishing supply of duckbills, cottontails, etc. When she takes one out and speaks your name, it doesn't matter if you ride a jet plane half a world away -- it's coming after you and nothing can stop it!

That summons images right out of an old Warner Bros cartoon of the animal part mimicking the victim's motions as he's trying to tiptoe away, or waiting on the other side of a window shade and when the victim raises it to take a peek... WHAMMO!

Yeah, I may run with this idea for a while - thanks for the suggestions too. Plus if I do them as scraps I can put a lot of different ideas on paper quickly.
