One of the last and most visible parts of bankhead is the old generator house. Eighty years ago people would have come in here to shovel coal into great generators that provided power to both bankhead and a bit to Banff and Anthracite. The electric facilities here were the envy of the bow valley and while the generators are gone, their foundations and much of the walls are still visible today.
