EDIT 1/16/17: I made some changes to Wolf's design, most notably adding the aurora borealis (northern lights) pattern to his wings. I had intended to theme parts of his design around the northern lights early on in his development, but ended up straying away from it later. It's cool to have that original vision come back around, and I think the bright colors contrast nicely with his otherwise monochrome design. I also changed the scale pattern on his tail and edited a few things that were starting to bug me. I feel like the whole thing looks much more complete now.
--Character Overview--
-Name: Wolf
-Sex: Male
-Species: Dragon
-Breed: Nightwing x Icewing Hybrid
-Age: 6 (which seems to equate to mid teens in the WoF universe, as far as I can tell. I personally imagine Wolf being about sixteen.)
-Father: Thoughtsearcher, a Nightwing taken prisoner and forced to breed with multiple Icewing females in an attempt to get animus magic back into the tribe.
-Mother: Opal, one of the four dragons chosen for the breeding program which produced Wolf and his siblings. Wolf has never met her and doesn't even know her name.
-Half-sisters: Ptarmigan, Lemming, and one unnamed dragonet.
-Half-brother: Unnamed dragonet
-Abilities: He breathes steam, rather than fire or frost breath. It doesn’t sound particularly imposing, but can actually inflict severe burns on other dragons. Unfortunately, Wolf was so horrified by the results the first time he used it to defend himself that he became terrified to ever use it again. Also has Icewing spikes on the end of his tail and can use these as a weapon in battle.
-Voice Actor: Jay Baruchel (Hiccup, from How to Train Your Dragon)@
-Personality: Wolf is a quiet, shy, well-intentioned dragon haunted by his traumatic past. One of three dragonets bred and raised in isolation by the Icewings in an attempt to get animus magic back into their tribe (see Wolf’s history for more info), Wolf was privy to a lot of pain and suffering at a young age. He was almost always at the receiving end of the Icewings’ cruelty because out of all three siblings he looked the most like a Nightwing. The Icewing caretakers would bully and belittle him over everything, no matter what he did, and because of this Wolf has developed some serious self confidence issues. He witnessed the deaths of both of his siblings, barely escaping with his own life when the Icewings decided he was more trouble than he was worth. He lived four years of his life hiding in the mountains in almost total isolation, only seeing other dragons from afar. Because of this, his social skills are less than stellar, and he doesn’t quite know what to do when approached by dragons he’s not familiar with. His default reaction to danger is usually to fly away and hide, or freeze up and resign himself to his fate. He’s more comfortable observing than actually interacting with other dragons, and absolutely hates drawing attention to himself. He doesn’t like to talk, but when he does it’s usually in very short sentences. He gets straight to the point, not taking time to ramble or engage in friendly banter. He has a very small circle of friends, and has trouble letting in new dragons. It can take time for him to become comfortable around you, but when he decides you’re his friend, you’ll have it loyalty forever. He isn’t comfortable in crowds or around very pushy, overly talkative dragons. He’s quite intelligent, observant, and can figure things out at an astounding pace. He’s naturally helpful and wants to do whatever he can to make his friends happy. So long as he’s given his own space, he will work tirelessly without complaint.
