Out in the first barracks, things were a tad quieter. Dante was waiting for his comrade to return from the guard he.
"Late again." Said a voice from by him. Dante looked about but couldn't see who the woman was. "Dean's late again in getting the news isn't he?"
"Cut it out, Sera." Dante demanded as he looked about. "Quit using your powers here."
"Oh sorry." Seraphina said as she started to be visible on one of the beds. "It's basically my bedroom too."
"And I bet you were listening in the entire time?"
Seraphina looked at him and pulled her scarf up a bit more "No I don't here anything that happens in the place I sleep in. Dean still got is late to find our new guy."
"Meh, He still get the job done." Dante replied, and just then came in the brown wolf, Dean. "So is she on her way here?"
Dean pulled his had a bit down as he nodded "You sure you read her file though?"
Dante wasn't sure why He would ask that and looked to Seraphina for a moment. "Just checked it again this morning. She got every training down and passed with flying colors, she even beat all our old records."
"I've been wanting to spare and put her in her place." Seraphina added "I'm the brawling queen."
"Sir, I'm not sure if you did read it all." Then he looked to the entryway. "You can come in now."
In stepped the new soldier. A very young wolf with yellow fur. Goggles covered her eyes and her helmet kept her hair back. All three just looked her her in surprise, even Dean,whom has already seen her.
"Check with them again, Dante." Seraphina said "I'm not babysitting this kid."
Dante was still puzzled "How old is she?"
"See why I asked?" Dean said "None the less, This is her. Dalton said so himself."
"Well, he messed up." Seraphina said "I'm gonna talk to him" And then she got up and walked out.
"Well... Ana..." Dante said while looking at her, but the rookie just looked at him. "Got anyway to talk at the moment?"
She shook her head.
"Well, We'll have to find a way to fix that then." Dante said 'Till then. You can unload your things at the lockers in the Guard house, and you can sleep in the barracks next to here. Okay?"
She just saluted him then stood there still.
It wasn't clear why, but she just did. Umm... Dismissed..." Dean said, and she walked out "Never seen someone like that before. It's like a feral police dog or something."
"Maybe she was in the doghouse for a while..." Dante waited for even a snicker, but it didn't realyl happen "Just keep an eye on her for now. Try and get her to feel comfortable."
"I make no promises." Dean said and then walked out.
Dante looked down thinking about what just happened. A teenager was in the army, as a soldier. It was hard to put together what this world was doing to cause this, but it was something he had to work with.
