A band of raiders that had gotten out of control and were threatening to topple the local rulers had become a little arrogant. When Kaden wandered through the area they thought they could take him on as easily as the locals. Kaden did not really care all that much about the local situation and the arrogance of the bandits was a minor annoyance at most. What Kaden really cared about was that he was hungry and the bandits that confronted him were fair game. And so, just like that, the locals were saved and Kaden received a nice meal.
