Yeah, it's amusing. We're having a lot of fun with it. Bree (the gnoll) is a gentle, innocent female--until she gets in bed. Then she's an alpha queen, asserting her dominance. My wife is having a blast with that.
Though Bree isn't charmed. She met a Paladin as a pup, and he converted her. Now she fights off her own inner demons with the help of that necklace she's wearing. If I could, I'd probably play her as my PC. I like her a lot.

Naraughul (though all the other PCs just call him Meatshield) is a lot more savage and uncivilized, and kept at the very edge of control. Though if my halfling keeps him well fed in offal from the butcher shop and allows him to eat the hearts of those they defeat (he believes if you eat the heart, the owner serves you in the afterlife) , he'll fight for her.
