
So when we (finally!) got to the front of the registration line at FF and they asked for a name to put on my badge I realized I could try out this "fursona" concept too. It's actually just one of my favorite online chat rp characters, which proves how little the concept has sunk in. I'd also never drawn her in color before, so I did up a crappy sketch and took it to artists. This badge is by
Michele_light. It's actually much more vivid in person, and my other ML badge less so. I have no idea what my scanner's hiccup is.

Scanners wash out color for any thin material - its something you'll get used to. If the light can completely penetrate the medium, the colors will look faded or distorted. People like
blotch have photographer friends for larger pieces (like canvas) which is why you don't see the fade.
Short version: nothing wrong with your scanner, but make sure to check the brightness and saturation levels. Some of it you can compensate for.
