Here is a rather amazing piece created by the hand of  pocketwolverine and featuring four of my characters. From left to right is Lenord (yes, its spelled like that), Waldo, Izixs, and Vinlia.

It had been a rare occasion for the four of them to be in the same place at the same time. But since that last party, some of the discomfort they felt with each other had perhaps decreased, or at least been altered enough so the more disagreeable pairs could stand each other.

The quartet shared a lot of history after all. Each had after all filled the same high office in the Union government, that of First Speaker. Izixs of course had been the first. And had hung onto the office for so long that he was accused of being more of a dictator than an elected official, ignoring of course his excessively hands off approach in the later years and the limited power the office actually wielded. Lenord had taken over him, despite the dragon's disgust for his politics. But as is want to happen with the fox, the corruption he had kindled before taking the top spot followed him and he was traded out for Vinlia. Vinlia followed Izixs' governance methods more closely than Lenords, but still diverged from the dragon in a few areas. This had her stepping on the toes of the dragon's allies more often than not and leaving their formerly coordial relationship rather strained. She opted not to run for reelection. As such, Waldo was next in line after a very close race. More of a meddler than the rest, and increasingly willful, he had taken up the habit of foregoing hard political alliances right off the bat, seeking ideological and ethical purity over compromise.

And so they gathered. But for what purpose? Tonight something foul was afoot. The four politicians, some recovering, one not, were in for a bit of a rough time...
